I can confirm on both counts.
I was also surprised by the difficulty of the approach. It didn't look like much but turned out to be steeper and farther than it appears.
I saw a momma big cat and cub on my way in there so it's especially memorable.

Ok, I've already skipped a bunch and the next areas are overwhelming.
That's around 40 domes in the Southern Sierra and I quit before the domiest areas of Courtright, Shaver/Huntington, Shuteye and Tuolumne! Safe to say the Sierra is king of the domes! Though China looks like it has some sweet ones.

^^^^ Sierra Ledge Rat: I think those would be considered Inselbergs (literally "island mountain") not domes
here's one (granite exfoliation dome) that escaped Cali and made its way to Texas, Enchanted Rock near Llano (not my photos)
here's one that looks like a dome Ayers (aka Uluru) rock but is composed of sandstone and is considered an Inselberg

Homer's Nose, Sequoia NP. the summit is just above 9000'. 3 multi pitch routes on this almost 1000' face that have maybe seen one other ascent since the early eighties. Could be the miles of manzanita, chemise and PO that even kept Fred Beckey away. Wasn't till I got home with the pics that I saw the Big Creature standing on top!!!!

I've always wanted to get up to Homer's Nose, but I decided places like CRS and The Gorge of Despair were a lot easier to get to :-)
You took that a few days ago? Very cool.
Is getting there as bad as I've been lead to believe by the likes of HL, or are they just trying to hog it for themselves?

I've only climbed CRS, but having day hiked all three of the places you mentioned I thought it was harder than CRS but easier than GOD. I think they're all close enough in suckiness that it just comes down to opinion.
But, it's pretty undeniable that the climbing potential is the lowest on Homer's Nose. A big roof along the bottom and lots of blank above, with the exception of the three spots that already have routes... Too bad, since the rock quality seemed outstanding.

Yep, those are knickers.
When Jim and I were in this very quiet and out-of-the-way place, we both were amazed there wasn't more activity here;
but it was late in the year when we were there (1980s).
It's really easy to get to, but relatively un-trodden by Yosemite standards.
Thank goodness climbers are pretty lazy and happy to stay in the ditch.
Boo Dawg was so smart and fortunate to have gotten in here back when he was a bearded youth!

I hope to get down to Helen's Dome in the SPlatte, and maybe to Enchanted Rock in TX with my major dude John Ferguson later this year. No pictures of these fine domes right at the moment, but later, in a TR I hope.

Yes, Steve. I named Dome Perignon in tuolumne after establishing some routes there. See the Reid/Falkenstein Guide.

Half Dome, Chemo Dome and Ferretlegger Dome (from 2011).
Two domes still in existence, another grew full head of hair and it ain’t Ferretlegger.
