Wamello / Fresno Dome Trip Report February 2013
Sunday February 17, 2013 9:55pm
A few weeks of warm weather and the usually snow blanketed Fresno Dome was showing signs of rock. I had been watching the snow receding from town and saw the day time high was going to be in the low 70's for Oakhurst. Time for a snowmobile run up the mountain to savor some off season SOYO climbing.
My partner Matt had established some climbs on the dome in years past and was jonesing to climb his 3 pitch "High and Mighty" 10c. It was a great route with wandering featured slab climbing and an arm pumping steep bolted section on pitch 2.
After enjoying the climb we decided to ride up to higher elevations and get some snowmobiling in on deeper snow. When a weather window like this comes along its a real blessing. :-)

Rock that actually begs you to climb it and faces south, plus relative ease of approach--you're living right, my friends! Big Mike isn't the only one smart enough to get a snowmobile to be useful around here.

I know, there's probably a snowmobile thread...
