I really doubt Cali will send those with us sitting on a tinderbox 24/7,
especially as it's only 260 acres. Why doesn't the richest country on earth have 10 DC-10's
ready to roll in Denver, SLC, SAC, SoCal, and Bozeman 24/7? It's criminal!

not sure i'd belittle this one with "only 260". There's a high density of homes this thing is ready to rip through.

but your point about resources spread thin is valid leaving me with little I can say to that.

Got a text from the top of the first flat a bit ago and apparently it's a pretty good air show at this point. So that's good news.

It's suppose to get windy tomorrow too.

Only doesn't belittle like 'only' does. :-/
It is algebraically increased by its proximity to town. God bless!

I missed that subtlety! I should have known better given the source.

@ mile marker 28 in Boulder Canyon.

I'll bet this snuck right around the back side of Tarbusters place. Fingers crossed - he's perched on the hill north side of Ned.

I heard it's above 226 acres now and has destroyed at least two
buildings.

Hopefully crews can get some line built and hose lays down tonight. DC-10s are great but a lotta fire fighting still has to be done with chain saws and Pulaskis at night while temps are down and humidity is up.

The airshow was impressive tonight. Had a picnic on Flagstaff and watched brids and mechanical birds. Hoping progress is made with all we saw. Went home and found that it is smokey stinky here in south Boulder with all the smoke in the air.

It's a pity they don't have LA County's Nighthawks. With the lake so close
I imagine their turnaround time would be about 3 minutes, if that.

Is it still bad? Is it close to containment?

Check out this link for a map of the fire. It looks like it started in the canyon where upper Sugarloaf Road(it is dirt at that point) is located.

Zero containment and unfavorable conditions today. Wind has shifted as the house no longer smells like a campfire.

We are far away from the fire - but not the smoke (and only the odor and haze). It is creeping this way, but where we are it is all good. Be interesting to see what's happening today. I really feel for those who have lost their homes. That's just awful.

Thanks! We are a-okay here.

Happily too, Tarbuster while very close to this, is on the west side of the fire and evac area. Hopefully the winds cooperate and keep the flames/smoke away from him.
