Just talked to Tarbuster and so far so good for them. But they are starting to prep for evac. We heard over the ops radio they are evacing folks but don't know where to send them.

They have one chopper bucket on scene and that's it. 0% contained.

Others in Ned?

It's about 15 miles as the crow flies from us (in north Boulder). I'll have some images after a bit.

Got a bunch of friends in Ned. One family just evacuated.

Here's the Daily Camera's writeup.

just came from there and it looks really bad. Not huge yet but I think it h just started and huge plumes of super black smoke are going up. Just on the ridge just north of the damn. Blowing towards boulder. Lots of houses and cabins up there. Will keep those people in my thoughts.

Winds aloft as reported at DEN

9K 2006+22 (200 at 6KN)
12K 2108+13 ( 210 at 8KN)

That's good for Ned for now but that's point right at us. Also good that they are not whipping. It's pretty calm overall.

We had looked at a house up in that area just north and a little east of ned. Lots and lots of houses and cabins. My saw a report that it is already 100 acres. Unfortunately that may mean several houses have burned with the density of homes up there. these two photos are from just above town coming from rollinsville. Sugar loaf would be to the right of the fire in this picture v

Saw at least 20 emergency vehicles going up canyon as we were coming down. Helicopters were already doing drops. Funny thing is that we saw several fire trucks with lights flashing and several other emergency vehicles driving away from Ned toward central city in the rollinsville area when we were driving over. Are there two fires burning?

Was just looking at places there on realtor.com last night.
Should drive prices down. HEY, IT'S BLACK IRISH HUMOUR! :-/

Best wishes to all. At 100 acres and seemingly light winds they should
get a handle on it soon.

Looked like a bomb going off I had the feeling this was going to get a lot bigger. So hot today. 97 when we got to boulder and think it was in the upper eighties in Ned.

Reilly I didn't know you were Irish or black.

How are all the st Ned peeps doing. Evil, tarbuster, Loren , pud. Aren't you all up there. Can't do much but would do what I can. If you have to get out I have a small house in Louisville where I could put up a couple people for a bit.

I'm sure the CalFire DC-10's and 737's on their way. They should be anyway. They drop a lot of gunk, right on the hot-spots.

Actually fun to watch. But I's imagine they're going if it's a big fire. 3 hours to get there.

It's heading down Boulder Canyon. Sounds like it went around Ned to get there.

I hope they can help but we in Cali have a lot of our own fires going on.
