Start them in cold water just like lobsters.

Yeah Kevin, I know what duck diving is, and if you encounter dog poo, swim past it. Rather dog poo than a shark.

Jim, I put my lobsters in the freezer for a while, then they are comatose. I do not want to piss off PETA.

I don't think I can fit the puppy in the freezer.

I would much rather spend time with a good dog as opposed to the miserable SOB who started this thread and all the other "haters" posting on this site.
Ha! we've never met but you just insulted one of the least miserable SOB's on this big beautiful planet!

Why did you buy a dung-a-lo on Dog Doo Lane if you hate dogs??
When we had a walk through everything was clean and I think as soon as we signed the papers to go into escrow they let it all go to sh*t. I love puns.

The conclusion is just dumb assed reasoning from you. You and that dumb assed science you quote haven't actually shown what dogs actually feel/think.

Try this: Take a trip to Mexico, pull off at some scenic site and then take a short hike in the that small locale. The human shite that is everywhere is more disgusting that some dog ....

Don't shoot the messenger and feel free to do your own research, I'm always open to my mind being changed. My degrees are in field and wildlife biology and ecology and I mostly studied reptiles and aquatic ecosystems so I'm no expert on the mammal brain, that was just my lazy attempt at summarizing everything I've read into a few sentences.

I've been to Mexico 23 times and I am very aware of the fact that there are more annoying dogs down there than here in CA. I also spend about half of my trips digging banos and doing what I can to get the turds off the street!

BTW: The whole world is poopy!
Indeed. Thanks to dog people! http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/233104.php
The air of two Midwestern US cities contains significant amounts of bacteria from feces, particularly dog poop, according to a new study led by the University of Colorado Boulder, published recently in the journal Applied and Environmental Microbiology.

but you just insulted one of the least miserable SOB's...

Wow, I'd never say that about myself, quite the opposite. It sounds like you are full of yourself. I could be wrong.

Reality check time. Why did you start this thread in the first place?

Sounds miserable to me, no offense but if you are a scientist as you claim, you are either a troll or venting some pent up emotions. Just my two cents.

I love my dog and I can only hope she never meets you. A wildlife expert? Eh?

I have been around the block a number of times, but a wildife expert that does not understand canines? That takes the cake.

I studied zoology, animal psychology and a tad bit human psychology. I studied black bears in the field, waking up in my sleeping bag with one looking over me. But I do not consider myself an expert.

IMO, You are a troll or a bitter person who found that dog sh*t was on the path to "happiness".

I have tried to avoid any personal ad hominem remarks on this forum for years, but I would wager my dog is better than you are. Did you get your kicks out of annoying me?

EDIT

Interesting article though from Medical News Today that you linked to. But how conclusive that dog feces are fouling the air? (Edit, seems to me that VW diesels are doing a better "job" at fouling the air, yeah my shares tanked too.)

I was a journalist on Medicine Weekly (Ireland) for a year. I could write or dig up stories if I wanted to that would "prove" my point of view, I never did though. Never.

You struck a nerve with me lady. I try not to let things on the Taco Stand, or any forum, get to me. But my puppy and the new kitten, they are better "life beings" than I could ever imagine you being.

Perhaps I am wrong and you are a nice person. I think you are a troll though who is annoyed that there was dog feces - the ones that are ruining two midwestern cities - in your new abode.

Boo hoo, call the whaaaambulance.

EDIT

So dog poo was in your new home, from what it sounds like. Better than rat sh*t. Get a cat, no wait, a wildlife expert like you would not have a cat, a ferret perhaps? Shades of the Big Lebowski.

Timid, I am laughing. I need that relief as sh*t hits the fan. Thanks, seriously.

On the Edge, wolf threads, they passed with the wooden stake, or is that steak? Wait, I got my stories mixed up. Wooden stake, vampire? Werewollf, in London?

What about the polar bears encroaching on human territory. The cheek of them.

I hope I have not offended anybody too much, even the dog haters. Life is too short.

And there is a kitten chewing at my hands. She is so cute.

EDIT

So toxoplasmosis, dog feces fouling the air. I reckon the time is for the… all cats and dogs must die, or else the survival of the human race is in the… um, uhh, what do you call that?

Brink?

Hey, considering how many are out there, feral cats alone, it could be the solution to human starvation. Recipes are welcomed.

So a wildlife expert, who confesses to not knowing mammals, says she hates dogs.

My degrees are in field and wildlife biology and ecology and I mostly studied reptiles and aquatic ecosystems so I'm no expert on the mammal brain,

I can live with that, though ignorance is not a great excuse.

You have to be full or yourself to be satisfied with life? And you are correct, I was simultaneously venting and trolling, two cents well spent.

So a wildlife expert, who confesses to not knowing mammals, says she hates dogs.

I didn't say I knew nothing, only that I'm not an expert. In other words, I've read the research on animal brains and behavior but haven't done any myself. Maybe I'm wrong, I have no problem with that so long as there is proof and not more "my dog won't eat when I'm gone" stories.

And sorry if this thread made you angry, that wasn't the point, just venting. And PS, I've lived here a month and the side yard still smells like turds to the point where we can't leave windows open and my dog loving friends don't even notice!

Apologies to all Taco Standers if I have been abrasive on this thread.

Jennie has been gone almost one year and my puppy Aggie, and the kitten, Betty, are all I have. I have to travel up to Dublin tomorrow to see my attorney.

It is pissing down and Aggie wants out, I took her to the beach earlier, and we both got soaked.

The kitten is running around the house, better than in a cage at the SPCA. She loves her freedom. Can't let her out until she gets her second vaccination.

I am just a bit on edge, I have to pull my head out of my ass.

Dog haters, dogs are not that bad. It is the owners, or more PC, "guardians", that usually dictates a dog's behavior.

I have an early train to catch in the morning.

I love the Taco Stand and the interaction of people. It is one of the things - you people - that has kept me going.

Thank you.

There's a person in my community whose pup died from a snakebite. This person regularly took their dogs for walks unleashed in our local woods...where rattlesnakes are pretty common. No doubt they left their turds out there, too.

Is the problem the snake? Or the dog?

I'm thinking HUMAN. Yep, that's it.

I can still lead 5.9 (shaky) and I will climb Ama Dablam some day. Alpamayo, I am not too sure.

The Nose awaits, the Salathé Wall, I made it up half way, I'll finish it.

The little kitten is climbing all over me, talk about dogs, what about cats.

And I miss Jennie. I know I have written that a number of times on other threads, but it still stands true.

EDIT

Kevin, do you like cats? I have a kitten here, Betty, that is… an angel and a devil. I think she would like California.

Sorry about the dog doo, but I can assure you, what you stepped in was not from Aggie.

There is SO MUCH dogshit in my local park & woods where I walk my pup. It's fecking disgusting, and undoubtedly has significantly increased the fecal count in one of the primary creeks that runs through our area.

I've found shitbags sitting 15' from a goddam dumpster. I just want to shove those bags & turds right up the arse of every dog owner who lets their pup crap in these areas.

What the f*#k are these people thinking, anyway?
