You can now sue BLM and the state of CA for the damages to your truck.
They never sent the deer to skoool to learn about looking both ways before crossing.
Thus stooopid deer has no clue ......

Deer never evolved to deal with vehicles. Not their fault.

Damn, sorry to hear that.
Deb and I passed that area 10 minutes earlier, good thing we didn't hit it. We were in her Fiat.
Deer were on my mind.

CAPT.. Negative. Went directly to Bishop Autobody. Good Old fishing man and does the best quality work in town.
Terminated 2 Moose and 1 Black Bear when I was in Maine. All three with a Navy Giant Dodge 4pack 4X4 with a monster KILL THE MOOSE grill, thank god.
F10... That would have been a bad scene in the little green car.

And >~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~:> Worms.
EDIT: Irony... Just got talking to my Wife about this. Would have a been a giant MOFO to have survived all the shet I have the past 40 or so years only to be whacked by a 5 Point Mule Deer on the way to have a peaceful day with the local Browns. Now that would have been seriously fked up.

LOcker... from up thread when asked the same question.
Who the fk is going to walk down a 20-30 degree hill some 50', drag the sob turd bite deer that just fked up my truck and my fly fishing day, up the hill, throw it in the back of truck and then have blood all over the cab as it's towed 37 miles to a body shop. Specially with it's head half torn off....

Hey DEAN... how many you impacted in the days you lived in that area?
Side Note... let's not forget one of the Eastside Greats, John Fischer, died just 16 miles on his bike which he loved so much, up the road from where I got nailed, five years ago, at the hands of one of these beasts.

No. Started later than normal cus after living in Crowley for 8 years, I learned that most deer impacts this time of the season occur between 5-7am. I left my house here in Bishop at 7:15.
So.... go figure.

physics be-damned (please chime in local physicists) but it seems that I can corroborate the high-speed=NBD theory, at least for deer-or-smaller critters.

Not true regarding road kill in Cali. All you have to do is tell the responding officer you want it. He then tells you you need to call Div of Fish and Game. They issue the tag for it.

When I was a youngster growing up in western Pa where road kill deer was about as common as mosquitoes it was used for for prisons or other public funded living facilities.
