hey Blah Blah, I see you are from Colorado as well. No one answered my question " If you pointed your gun at a cop what would happen?"

what would happen? Anything different state to state?

I don't have any special insight to answer that question, but I don't see why there would be any significant difference from state to state.
My guess is that there's good chance that you would be shot, although that would depend on the circumstances and the attitude of the responding cops. If you weren't shot, I think you'd certainly be arrested and prosecuted to the "full extent of the law."

There have been at least several high profile cases over the years of cops in Colo. shooting mentally disturbed kids armed with knives--if you give a cop an excuse to shoot, at least some of them will take it.

I'm deeply suspicious of the narrative that the Bundy "protesters" were in fact pointing guns at cops in light of their not being shot and/or arrested.
One theory is that the BLM cops were strongly incentivized to minimize arrests in order to avoid the inevitable inquiries into their own behavior that would follow.

OK I'm out to enjoy the day--you all try to stay out of shet and feck's way as much as possible!

seems like a pretty weak theory to me.

more likely the BLM cops were ordered by their Commander to leave without confrontation
purely as the "common sense" thing to do, and not for any fear that something, anything, in their own behavior might maybe come to light if they did not

just weak, not saying YOU think that way Blah, just others who came to that conclusion

Here you go Bruce: http://www.gjsentinel.com/news/articles/prank-may-8232land-man-8232in-prison From 4/24/14's Grand Junction CO news...

A man who said he pointed a toy handgun in the face of a police officer as a Halloween prank may end up in prison over it. Patricio Preciado, 29, faces anything from probation to six years in…

But he was brown after all, and we know that that is just as bad or worse than poor in the eyes of the justice system.

i'm surprised it didn't turn into a gun fight. because if there is one thing I'm certain of it isn't the BLM that was hoping that shots would be fired.

The Chief attempted to quip
Your "progressive" state has one of the least stringent gun laws in this nation.

Nice "progressiveness".

Vermont has rather liberal (loose) gun laws as well. What's your point? And does that point have anything to do with using guns to protect the ability of a racist rancher to steal from the American people?

Sad isn't it, day after day the only relevancy these far left wingnuts can find is in jerking each other off and then ganging together as school yard bullies on the pages of this forum. I find it telling that when their opposites, such as The Chief or Ron, poke them back with pointed sticks they cry foul.

EDIT: WTF is that below Werner, a protest against global warming?

Quang Duc was protesting the persecution of Buddhists by the South Vietnamese government led by Ngô Đ́nh Diệm. Photographs of his self-immolation were circulated widely across the world and brought attention to the policies of the Diệm government. John F. Kennedy said in reference to a photograph of Duc on fire, "No news picture in history has generated so much emotion around the world as that one."[3] Malcolm Browne won a Pulitzer Prize for his photograph of the monk's death. One theory is that the BLM cops.......
...had plenty of advance information on what they were getting into, were well drilled in rational rules of engagement with armed civilians. Had a plan and were disciplined.
You can bet they were under instructions to not escalate the situation and if anyone fired the first shot it wouldn't be them.
They've been working on this since Ruby Ridge and Waco.

Too bad we don't ensure our local cops are up to the same standard of training and discipline.

Chief
what was your opinion of the Vietnam War when is was going on? Were you even old enough to have an informed opinion? Were you even old enough to be drafted like some of us Old Geezers?
There's plenty of blood on JFK and LBJ's hands.

If you bother to read your history in an unbiased way, you'll see that both JFK and LBJ had great reservations but the Right Wing Whackos in the Pentagon convinced them to carry on. That damned fool Curtis LeMay wanted to nuke North Vietnam. So did Senator/Pres Candidate Goldwater. At least JFK and LBJ resisted the nuke cowboys. Don't forget it was JFK who kept his finger off the button in the Cuban Missile Crisis.

So where is the pointed gun? Hear any gunshots?
That's precisely what's called constraint in face of extreme provocation.

Worked this morning, went for a run, did some gardening, chatted with my neighbor - poor thing's dad died last week and her pup has cancer, now I'm off to belay some kids learning how to climb. Just thought I'd stop in the check the weather on Planet Ugly.

Pretty sunny here.

And here I totally thought Ted Bundy was dead.

With Nevadans, it can be hard to tell one way or the other sometimes.
