Is this 'point out the obvious' thread? : )

How about a line up for several more...Mark Hudon's is close to #1 if you actually read the report.

many more good ones but these stand out for me.

That can't be at all the best TR of 2012.

Put some climbers in a location with awesome climb in background.

Put naked boob girl in foreground.

Watch eyeballs.

It seems that they are way more attracted to boobs ......

I enjoyed and appreciated every single TR I read this year. So, thanks to everyone who posted.

The TR that most blew me away, I think:

Best is a tough thing to define, maybe favourite would be a better idea. I don't know if it was ever deemed complete but i think it's obvious that kid comer's Muir TR kept us all entertained for quite a while there & had all the great elements for armchair climbing & debate. Drama, epics, photos, climbing, many comments & rants, & even a rescue. Definitely most views & comments i have seen on a TR.

http://www.supertopo.com/tr/The-Kid-Flunks-Grade-VI-Photo-Essay/t11756n.html

Rapping the nose was a good one too although not technically a TR

Some other favourites: I liked Tad's return to climbing TR & many Pellucid Wombat & Vitaliy Tr's as well. Big Mike's real time going back to Cali Tr was fun too. Pullharder crew had some awesome winter ascent TR's in early 2012 that were sick! Evolution traverse in winter!? Noriko's TR's are few but pack more sierra climbing in than most do in years. Mark Hudon's are out of this world & obviously Micronut & DMT or anyone else who has ever taken the time to share a TR. Thanks.

All Tr's are awesome, my favourite thing about ST

edit - Yes Roadie's TR's holy sh#t !

Something's been bugging me about superbalanced, I just read it for the first time but the story seemed erily similar to something else I read a couple months ago.

After rereading it last night and bawling my eyes out, I have to say Damn This Looks High's TR about his multi-year journey to climb the Half Dome cables with his non-verbal autistic son was one of my favorite pieces of climbing writing ever.

Pellucidwombat's DEER route was one of the most unique so I really enjoyed that one.

Superbalance was just plain epic.

If you're into that sort of thing was written creatively and fun to read.

Micronut's new years eve TR because I love the pumped weekend warrior spirit and his writing is always entertaining.

This poll needs categories!

Superbalance is unreal.

In addition to the mentioned I will add Vitalliy's. TR about Bugaboos has so many climbs and so many outstanding photos, I looked over it at least three times. OK, maybe over 5 times? Don't tell my husband.
http://www.supertopo.com/tr/Bugaboos-Beyond-My-Dream-Vacation/t11781n.html

I bet his mother does not approve his ice climbing adventures. Those icicles look dangerous to climb. Keep to rock!

Superbalance? YGBSM

That TR was about a couple of whiners always complaining about -20 temperatures 4,000 feet up a big wall in the arctic.

It gets my vote.

Tossup for me between Jane Gallwey's two wall solo TRs: Prow and LF. The Prow TR was eloquent about being alone up there, the pull of the ground, and the daily evaluations of high points and low. Inspiring stuff for me.

Yeah, Superbalance blewhu my mihind. Gets my vote for hardness.

Hudon's Iron Hawk Solo gets my vote for heartfelt epic.

Roadie moved me with his style and sincerity and heaviness.

Snowhazed's The Psyche Must Flow get my stoke award.

I really enjoyed writing my New Year's Eve on Half Dome and Mark Hudon is a Liar reports. Thanks for all those that enjoyed and commented on them.

Limpingcrab's adventures are always a treat.

Vitaliy was on a super adventure roll this year and his reports rock.

Pellucid must have a finger cramp from all those shutter clicks and all that mouse work. His stuff is a legacy of info for sure.

So many other great ones. Thanks for keeping the stoke alive all you TR writers. Keep em coming in 2013. I have a great one in the works about a family trip to a mysterious granite formation in Central Cal once used for human sacrifice. Stay tuned.

+1's for Jane Gallwey's LF solo and Marek Raganowicz's "The Reward".

another one that made an impression was yellow mzungu's zodiac tr.

but in general a heartfelt thanks to everyone who added tr's and climbing content to this political forum - haha.

1) Anything by Micronut.

2) Jane Gallway's Lurking Fear TR

3) Yellow Mungzu's Zodiac TR

Not just great climbing, but great writing (without all the spelling and grammer errors that seem so prevalent among Americans... spellcheck is so easy to use)
