I seriously want to do this in the next couple of winters, ski, hike & skate the JMT. That's about how long it'll take me to accumulate some new lighter weight gear.
Has anyone ever hiked any distance in NNNBC boots? Mine fit me really well. I think I'll check it out this weekend.

Sista. . . I can just picture you, RIGHT NOW, doing this. . . I think those boots would be cool - but carry a SERIOUS foot repair kit and know how to use it.
I guess you're considering those boots since they'd fit those cool Nordic blades?
AND. . . consider a drag bag set up for crossing the lakes. . . that dad in Dit's vid is a really STRONG skater. . . so don't take his casual wearing of a pack too seriously. . . a drag bag set up would be far more NORMAL!
