I'm wondering, how did they film the skater? Another skater, but where's the bobbing--the subject stays right in the middle of the frame and there's no motion on the camera!
k-Man. . . that's DIT. . . pro, all the way! And. . . I may add, even though he's been a photog for decades, he's pretty new to this video thing. . . methinks he catches on pretty frikken fast!
:-)
AND. . . DIT. . . when you want to link a vid, click that VIDEO tab at the top on a new post . . . then paste your URL (not an embedded one) into that slot - then go up and select everything from the = sign left - INCLUDING the = and delete it. . . then you're good to go!
I know . . . you have to click 'em both to make them work. . . but something tells me, the ones that are actually PHOTOS of the video get clicked more often.
I could be full of it, too! (Although I never have been, before!)
man....
watching Steve White skating at speed across that perfectly clear ice gives me the WILLIES...
Spectacularly beautiful but I'll be danged if I'd ever try it.
Ice ain't supposed to be both solid and that crystal clear.
Wonder if they saw any fish?
We all (including DIT) used to hoof it up to Lake Mary before Tamarack had enough snow to open and we'd skate that PERFECT lake. . . a mile by a half mile. . . crystal clear ice. . . somebody in the pack would go way wide and lure a school of trout and skate toward us with the school following along. . . you wanna talk TRIPPY? Ice skating at 9,100 feet, with the Sierra Crest looming above you. . . silently floating over a school of trout.
Haven't used the boot skates since I left Calgary.
Alignment wasn't critical as we were skating on a frozen creek, which was not flat, so we were not going very fast. But it sure beat walking, especially carrying a pack with a shitload of ice gear. We took hockey sticks to help our balance.
You can't link an embedded video. . . so. . . go to YouTube
select the TITLE of your video
Copy and paste it into YouTube's search engine
Search for it
click into your video
select that new URL
copy it
Then come to TheTaco
open a new post
click the VIDEO tab at the top of the blank post
paste the UN-EMBEDDED URL in the slot
put your insertion point just to the right of the EQUAL SIGN
Select everything INCLUDING THE EQUAL SIGN to the left
hit delete
Hit SUBMIT
You'll see that your insertion point is inside that link. . . DO NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE TO THAT LINK UNTIL YOU GET YOUR INSERTION POINT OUTTA THERE. . . then you're good to go for adding a comment or something.
