Buncha hacks!

Pigpen lives!

He was dead, now he's great.

This goes to show something about Cream and Led.

They'll mix when they are listened to separately.

It would do us all a favor if we could jam them together, a la the Dead Silver Fish, New Years Eve bash, Fillmore, '66-67. The Midnight Hour jam lasted just about an hour, then we had to sell-out and hear some Butterfield and Little Walter. Angelic, yet Quite Dead in comparison. Walter was really old. Bloomfield (a dispregarded genus, in my opinion) was too energetic for the set. Crabshaw played to follow him, so it was, as I said, "settling" after listening to Melton, Pigpen, Cipollina, and the assorted drummers who took turns hauling the rhythm.

Django R. Baking After Midnight: Sour Cream Apple Pie:

I was posting a video. It did not happen. Apple pie blues. But it's a great-sounding recipe. YT it, c/o Django Rhinehart After Midnight: Sour Cream Apple Pie.

Got munchies?

Bake some and bring them to the Facelift, all you Baker fans! Please! Think like Jake and Elroy, you are on a Mission from God. The Penguin would love a slice. And I hear the LZ fans are just bringing balloons!

Nita, who is an incredibly gracious host, put on some music last night for my all too brief visit with her and Andy,

Cream....

but there was too much going on for me to thank her at the time...

Not just against cream but against anyone it's hard to compare with the mighty zep.

Musicianship
Progression of new music styles and influence of later artists
Body of work
Popularity

Clapton plays cleaner, but Page is so diverse and innovative
Bonham's beats are amazing and so hard to play yet he played with such perfect time
Both started off very derivative but LZ evolved in so many directions
Plants vocals as just way better IMO

If Cream stayed together longer maybe they would compare.

Ron, one of the greats, Eric Burdon, wrote his ABio, and YOU SHOULD CHECK IT OUT or buy a used copy--early 2000s--if you want to know about getting screwed. The Animals might be (one postulates) still up there banging with the Stones, had one of their number, one Spence Spencer, not screwed the rest. Had the label of the 45rpm single, //House of the Rising Sun
// had the addition of "arr.by the Animals" things would have been different. (One can only speculate).

And the quiet Stone, Keith Richards, his Life is moused amusing. White boy with a mother fix, who led the Stones to Where They Are Today.

And lest we forget, the purple prose of Zappa in No Commercial Potential, we are denying history.

Everyone should listen to Beatle Bones and Smokin Stones who loves the odd, also. but just the one time.

KYOS was our broadcasting AM station 1480 in Merced. As I grew into my teen years, I found chula vista, but no Capt. Beefheart. Lotta Stones but they were so uptight they proscribed the words "stoned partner" as in that man's my stoned partner. Merced's not just feudal, they are beyond that in our county. But I listened, loving the music, missing over half the lyrics.

Here is Merced's best contribution to rock.

Lee is older than I am old. His organ...His bidness.
He's akshully from Atw#ter and that's where the videos took you. Nice Chev. You knew Glen Denny is from Merced County. He's our Arch-Rocker.

I dunno, I find Ginger Baker's playing to be much more sophisticated and nuanced...Bonham had unmatchable, astounding power, but his rhythms were fairly standard stuff.

Debouchery? You should watch out for BooDawg...he's the deboo..

I refuse to spell it out. He's the Baark Side. The era of Bat Poon!

You could get us in trouble.

Try Youtube at "Keith Richards comment Charlie Watts" and some Baker and Bonham fans might agree. For one time.

It pleases me to present the next part of the program presented by The Family Dog at the Avalon in order of appearance. Lee Michaels followed by Blur Chee.

The next act was the Berleleyan Fish.

Barry Melton, guitar. Joe MacDonald, the Main Guy of the group, took his appellation from "Country Joe" Stalin.

Tube it...f4WeqP2G6pl

aka Sweet Martha Lorraine.

Red Star for me.

What? This is OT as heck but fun.

I can't say for certain, but it has been rumored that Blue Cheer played the loudest of any band in history. I met the Martha Lorraine gal, how sweet she was. Wound up spending all of my time trying to memorize every line.

I don't think topics are in Vogue any longer. They tend to impede getting off.

Wolfman watched Butch Cassidy here. Sundance festival has long shunned it as a venue.

LOUD? CAN'T HEAR YOU! MY HISTORY CHANNEL IS ONE-THIRD OF THEIR VOLUME ON 100%! They were reported to have a female in their group, the bass, I think.

There's a Rambler Drive in Merced, Gateway to Midnight Cruising in the Gorge of the River (not the River Charles, but the Mr. Said).

You can say I told ya.

Yeah, I was at Altamont, too.

Years after the Chowchilla kidnap.

It's not Altamont but "How About that Charlie?" (from the live tape Get Yer Ya-Yas Out),

Drumset, Drumrise, Drumset, Drumrise.

Is this the little girl I carried?
Is this the little boy at play?

I don't remember growing older.
When did they?

As young rocker/mockers, we happened on a L'Oreal poster as we stopped our cruising to pee in a parking lot.

We saw L'Oreal's poster in a drogstore, and Sweet Martha Lorraine was playin' on the radio, then did her clam-shell routine for us as we peed away our beer. She was transmogrified to "Sweet Lorelle." The Flames' Mama of All Time.

Talk about made-up names!
The I Ching?

Clapton's Mojo vs. Page's Mojo: Define Mojo. I believe it has to do with watermelons.
De Flames had Jimmy Smith cold in the 8-track days. The Hammond B-3 organ is replaced by the B-3 heli!

Finally! An extra roogalater. Jist what every black president needs in his cabinet.

We need roogalating.

Like mojo needs mo' Jo.
