We are about to hit 1000 Trip Reports (thanks D Chao for the heads up).

So I thought we could all vote for our favorite trip reports. The goal not so much to declare a winner, but more just to highlight some of the best TR's out there. So please post you favorite trip reports below. Then we can tally up the votes.

some of my favorites (just off the top of my head.. ill search for more later)

The "South Seas by Two Old Guys" is currently a work in progress but it might be finished before the end of the year. So far, in my mind, it's a good read.

Too many to pick just one.

Here is a favorite though. It has everything. Adventure, climbing, kite skiing, wilderness, wild animals, girls with guns on skis.

I mean, come on, who doesn't love a woman with a gun on skis.

http://www.supertopo.com/tr/BAFFIN-Climbing-Skiing-Trip-report-w-pics/t80n.html

I also like Chris' story about rafting and climbing in the Grand Canyon. I will have to look for that one. Anyone know which one I am talking about?

Simply too many to even narrow down. My vote for favorite is that the SuperTopo Forum Trip Report tab exists in the first place. It is a pirate's trove of treasures hiding in there.

Though I could see it being an interesting compilation book at some point.

Thanx Cmac!

Hey CMac, here is another annoying suggestion to you.
Maybe, just maybe, you could set up a program like the pic of the day but for TRs. Incorporate a star rating system and let the TribeTaco winnow through the wheat & chaff over time.
Just a thought. I know, I know, I'll hush up and go sit back in the corner now.

This shouldn't go down without a mention of Micronut's journey to Nepal. No he didn't climb any 8,000 meter peak, but as someone above said, family matters. And there's more to family than just parents and children.

This one is one of the first things in the Taco I read, and is still the only reason I keep reading. The father/ daughter trip up half dome very good too, but the writing here and buffoonery almost done just so they might have an awesome trip report is simply outstanding, and hilarious.

Well, I only wrote one, but I put some effort into it, and it appeared to be well received; http://www.supertopo.com/tr/Low-On-Options-cutting-them-off-at-the-Pass/t10828n.html

but apparently not even nominated.
I was thinking about writing another about the trip last weekend called Greeks Bearing Guns (yes, somewhat climbing related), but now I wonder if I should bother.

My votes include the stuff by Tahoe123. The Laywomans accounts.

I like this trip report http://www.supertopo.com/tr/Dihedral-Wall-clean-TR/t70n.html and voted it best El Cap climb of 2008. It features my friend Chris Chan.

Was pretty impressed by the recent Continental Drift one as well.

I wish to note another category of Trip Reports on ST: that I find most enjoyable.

Fun Stories, that are------Mostly True:

These Trip Reports: use fictional enhancement to make the climbing adventure more fun.

The first one of these I noticed, and still perhaps the best, is by: nature & drljefe.
Drama on Baboquivari Peak
http://www.supertopo.com/climbers-forum/842954/Drama-on-Baboquivari-Peak-TR

Then I was inspired by Survival:
http://www.supertopo.com/climbers-forum/1038351/Journey-To-The-Planet-Of-Prehistoric-Women-TR

After I read Survival’s tale: I spiced up my story of 1971 adventure in the Sawtooths, and added a quest for “The Lost Crystal Cave.”

http://www.supertopo.com/tr/Pursuit-of-Bluebonnet-Tower-and-the-Lost-Crystal-Cave-Sawtooths-Idaho/t10506n.html

I never dreamed so many people would believe every word of that story. I will swear: the climbing parts are all true.

Other prime practitioners of the art of the “Fun Story, that is mostly true” are:

Micronut:
http://www.supertopo.com/tr/Aint-Skeerd-A-Halloween-TR-on-The-Nutscracker/t11236n.html

and Pellucid Wombat
