No need to ask around. I know/knew B.P. personally. You just admitted to stealing his idea. This type of opportunism makes me sick. I am done with this lame T-SH#T thread.

OK, If you as#holes want to get that nasty I will re-enter. Survival, if you want to engage me in idiotic teenage insults, your mother can flog me. Billygoat, I think Coz has his sh#t together and is right on with his opinions on this subject.
If this was a real campfire I can guarantee there would be blood. And after that kind of name calling I'm sure it would be billygoat blood.
There is nothing clever about being a copycat or idea stealer. Not name calling here, but stating facts.
The Yabo, Dolt, and Kinnaloa shirt ideas are ripoffs and disrespectful.
Please, someone throw another wet blanket on this flaming travesty of a thread.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but Mountain Dog, you did just threaten blood in a thread about t-shirts.
T shirts.

I sure did.
This is way more than a T-shirt thread. It's a thread about ripping off dead climbers and another climber/gear maker who wants to be left alone.

Not knowing Yabo or Simon or you, I am amazed at your vitriolic rantings about this endeavor? It appears you have many bones of contention and you are indeed having a bad day. I think most of the participants in this discussion have been quite frank in their emotions and have adapted to the revelations presented.
You, I am afraid have not benefited from any of this. So, do you really think you have any idea what Dolt would think about this? Obviously not! So, my suggestion is to STFU before you make more a fool of yourself than you already have.

Guido, It's actually been a good day. I smelled a rat here from the beginning and just wanted to get more info. And give my frank opinions. I never got vitriolic until ihateplastic evaded my questions about B.P. (whom he admits to trying to get permission from and failing, but doing what he wanted to anyway) and other people start getting nasty to me and others.
If you think that makes me a fool I can take it. I am not here to fight/argue but to learn the truth. But I won't back down from a fight if I believe my cause is just. Any more name callers out there? C'mon, give me your best shot.

Here's my take on this;.....I suppose it's good to exchange ideas, let off some steam, and purge.....that said....
Simon is trying to be up front with everything;....and to keep it light-hearted and good-natured.....something to appreciate and respect.
I personally appreciate him helping out with the Bridwellfest shirts;....don't get too worked up about anything and forget to support this awesome cause.
Yabo is gone;.....so is Dolt and Bachar.....but we all still have strong feelings for our lost and departed brothers;...that is our common ground and something we all share.
In this day and age,....things are tough for alot of us;...anything we can do to help each other out.....is usually a good thing;......it's probably a good idea to help each other though it all.....and if money can be made for any of us (us climber types).....that is a good thing;....
I don't believe Pottenger is still making t-shirts;.....if he was;....it probably wouldn't be too cool to compete with him using his own design;....but like out of print books......I think it's OK to keep the spirit alive......Bruce is a fun loving guy with a great sense of humor;....and I don't think Simon is getting rich off of Bruce's cool art work....( I still have a few kinnaloa shirts, even the M. Paul bald head one......it's an awesome shirt...).
Yabo owes me $65 .....he was at my house in J. Tree for days trying to sell a rope to get gas money home to Santa Cruz..everyday;..he bugged me to loan him money...but I refused, as I was saving for a trip to Peru......after many days...I finally loaned him the money to get home.....I never collected the debt....Yabo was oftentimes a keyed up fellow...but he also had a sweetside,.....I've seen him very relaxed too....we miss him, and his spirit still lives on in our thoughts, our respect, and our lessons on life and inspiration he shared with us .....this thread is a testiment to the spirit and influence Yabo had and still has with us and our community of kindred spirits.....Climbers are a sharing group for the most part;...share a beer, a rope, a place to sleep, some beta, a ride, a smoke, a campfire, a buck, a good word;....and yeah;..we freely share our thoughts and our ideas, and alot of our feelings are tied to strong emotional issues........I appreciate this sharing community, and we must remember that the cyber-campfire conversations aren't quite the same as our real lawn-chair types around real campfires..............(it is after midnight, isn't it...).....climb on ..and thanks for sharing;.......that's all....

Me too jbro.
What a sh!tstorm this turned into.
I think the shirt is lame, purely because of the Frankie thing. Honoring Yabo with a sick shirt would be cool.
What really gets me was the dude who's panties got all bunched up..." I thought we as climbers stood for higher values", and bitching about legalities...(good thing he wasn't on the lot at a Dead show!)
Whatever happened to climbers being rebellious, and breaking some rules?
Guess that guy's never commando camped, eluded a ranger, snuck something from the cafeteria, etc...
Simon follows the rules, for the most part. Can't help him with his penchant for lame 80s crap, though.
Just honor Yabo with a cooler design, Simon.

Oh and about the shirt. Never knew Yabo. Have heard many, many stories of him. Honor him. Understanding these stories, I immediately saw the irony, the humor, the honor of a well-known and loved member of the tribe. His passing was his choice. As is our choice to choose the craft and paths that we love, which has many times resulted in our deaths. And will again. And again. Impermanence. Is that the right word Werner? George Harrison, "All Things Must Pass." Love every moment of the NOW. That is all you get. This ain't no weinie roast, nor is it a dress rehearsal.
Profits should go to those in need, charity, or a good cause. I'll take two shirts.

billygoat... thanks. I did read it the wrong way, but now I understand your meaning.
Before I weigh in this morning, I need my tea and yogurt.
Things to look forward to:
1. A coupon!
2. A second YABO shirt that has no 80's feel to it!
3. A call for peace and harmony.
In the meantime...
