i was walking the d-line last night,
for i broke my king-pin in a rock-and-roll
hangup so my skateboard was inoperable.

along about 19th i swung into corner mart
and got me a bottle of chap wine.

at 43rd i stopped and shared it
with two ladies sitting on their front steps.

they invited me inside and we made a sandwich.
i'm hunting and pecking through their heritage fridge
and i cannot find the mustard.

i begin calling out, gently for it.
no response. instead i find two mayonnaise jars.

now i bring all the condiments out onto the counter:
there's peanut butter and jam. mayonnaise and relish;
a few hot sauce, vinaigrette and a bottle of wine.

i hear the girls. they are giggling in their
chairs behind me. i turn and glare. they look truely
wonderful sitting beneath the single light bulb
that hangs by an ancient wire from the ceiling.

i turn back to my edible audience. i begin in:

"listen. i know one of you is the mustard.
i don't mind at all - i actually applaud you - that you've
dressed up as another fixing. i invite honesty and
will completely respect your venerability at this moment.

come out! mustard. if you feel like your're mayonnaise,
then celebrate your soul as ever you want.

oh, and where's the ketchup?"
Slowly i slide the ranch out to the edge of the bar.
"good. nice to meet you kethup-crossed-dressed-as-the-ranch."

now one of the jars of mayonnaise unexpectedly falls to the floor
and shatters; but whoa, yellow pigment of spicy odor
splatters all over the 1930's era cupboards and plank floor.

"well shite. the mustard committed suicide. i'm so sorry.
i love you little guy."

and we mawe our sandwich in honor of the fallen trans-condiment.

"he must have been raised by republican parents," i say to the girls.

the brunette with beautiful eyes and a gentle mustache has a
sickle of mustard-c#m-mayonnaise on the edge of her mouth.

i lean over and swipe the verge of her soiled smile with my tongue.

we open the bottle of wine and carry on.
i swear i woke this morning to a new life.

one where i lob my reality daily at the stars
and stand under it as it comes showering back down in tingle sensations
of unpredictable texture.

oh and into a world of one more liberated-fridge.

Daou Zinfandel, with a great, thrown together dinner with visiting family.
It's been fantastic climbing weather here for the past week but family comes first.
No snow on Baldy yet this season - my husband was able to hike up there today with my nephew. I stayed home to work in my garden.

5 weeks out from major surgery that didn’t go well I did a 1200’ vertical hike in 1.8 miles so I think I earned a couple of Guinness. Wait, make that three. 🤡

Drunk & stuck on Maui again. 10 weeks out from having my left knee "fixed", I suffered a 4 mile beachfront hike yesterday, with some off-trail rock-hoping. I was sore & slightly sorry.

Today, I suffered less on a five-mile up & down on good trails around a failed hillside golf-course.

Sluuurp.

I do feel guilty about escaping winter, but it's only for a couple weeks.

Only a couple quick beers last night after climbing with Anita and Mike Blueblocr in Joshua Tree.

Anita gettin' 'er done on the sharp end:

Climbing on Trashcan Rock, nice route. I haven't led a 5.8 in YEARS, I nearly bloody fell off the damn thing - yikes!

Yup, feeling good after some proper climbing. Can't wait to get back!

Thanks for a great time, Blue! Nice to meet you Todd and everyone else.

Cheers from Mexico City - en route to Huautla area in Oaxaca for a kick-ass caving expedition.

Cool turtle shots, Fritz!

Pete?

Sake Bombs video? I ain't going to watch no "Sake bombs" video.

It's been snowy & cold in Choss Creek since we got home from Arizona on Feb. 13th.

I cheated death again this week, when the 5 polyps snipped during my colonoscopy last week, were not cancerous.

And Idaho Magazine published my latest rafting & climbing story, which events, despite a couple close calls, did not result in my injury or demise.

Things are going ok for us old folks.

Hey Fritz,

Congrats on cheating death once again.

While Anita Nother Beer is deciding on whether we are drinking Cab or Chard, we are warming up with a cold margarita, made with Cien Anos tequila brought back from my recent caving trip to Oaxaca, and of course with salted rim.

Decisions, decisions ..... ice climbing tomorrow at Slush Fest here in Queerbec.

Hey PPTP & Anita! How about Pete sharing an update on cheating death on his recent caving trip to Oaxaca?

And Harley would say hello, if he gave a damn, which he doesn't.

Columbia Crest Grand Estates Cab & H3 Cab. Slurp.
