No, why not have two of each?!

Why not? How about because your brain is so wasted by a cold that you can barely figure out how to walk from the bedroom to the bathroom...

And then your sweetie comes home and says: "Right, off your ass. I'm taking you out for Thai food." Yeah, she knows that Tom Yum is the ultimate cure for pretty much anything, and that I'm too f*#ked up to make it myself.

And, yeah, once in the restaurant, well, okay, I wouldn't normally drink this sh#t, but a glass of the house Malbec won't kill me...

Turned out the second and third glasses didn't kill me either.

THE IRISHMAN'S WISH

An Irishman is sitting at the end of a bar. He sees a lamp at the end of the table. He walks down to it and rubs it. Out pops a genie. It says, "I will give you three wishes."

The man thinks awhile. Finally he says, "I want a beer that never is empty."

With that, the genie makes a poof sound and on the bar is a bottle of beer. The Irishman starts drinking it and right before it is gone, it starts to refill. The genie asks about his next two wishes.

The man says, "I want two more of these."

Is Saturday afternoon too late? We started out with a Franciscan Estate Napa Valley Chardonnay... then Anita "made" me post this photo on Facebook

She says she wants to make the topless photo an El Cap Summit Tradition. What do you guys think?

Things went from bad to worse, however.... She "forced" me to open probably our very best bottle - a Hatcher Amador County 2012 Barbera, which is abso-tively posi-lutely one of THE best Barberas in the whole damn world! Yes, it's THAT good!

So I walked out into the kitchen wearing a T-shirt, and Anita [good ol Anita!] looked at me in horror and exclaimed,

"Holy sh|t! I thought you were naked except for your T-shirt, and that your balls had turned all purple!"

Poor girl. The things you have to suffer to drink one of the best wines in the world. Sheesh.

Um, sorry about the white "chicken legs" ....

Well, as I've always said, Anita is a thought-leader in the climbing world, and who am I to argue with her...

...but I'd be willing to wager a bottle of good wine (not that Cali crap) that there's a photo on your hard drive without the arms...

Anyway, naked people might have been cool (hot?) in the 1960s, but what's important now is wine, and that California Barbera... Well, I don't want to seem ungrateful for the first picture, but however much the color of the wine might have matched the color of your underwear/balls, I'd love to sit down with you and compare it to something really good.

Oh ... well then, Mr. Hoity Toity ..

What do you consider to be "really good" wine?

Eh?

Or as the Merricans say, "EH!"

Or as the Merricans say, "EH!"

I've lived among the Merricans for the last few years, but most of them don't know sh#t about wine. In a few months, I'll be moving back across 49, but...

...well, most Canuckians don't know sh#t about wine, either.

Come to the PNW for a visit (or SWBC after I move), and we can share some wine and food and see what happens.

In the meantime, maybe Wayno can step in with a few thoughts about Barbera.

Anita is listening to some ancient 20-year-old Techno music, you know, like from when she was a 20-year-old? It is ghastly.

"People used to veneer this stuff, you know..." says Anita.

"How about, 'revere' ?" says I.

Sheesh. See what I have to put up with?
