Anyone ever try the Momfgeltner Gortschlade? It's brewed by renegade Bavarian Illuminists in the upper Botswana. Three pints and the locals are speaking Swedish.

Just started into a homebrewed IPA. I dry hopped it twice! Wow! It came out just as I wanted: very hoppy and fresh on the nose (like KGB) , yet mellow , malty enough and complex.....jus sayin'

Gonna get some sweet climbing in this weekend again!!!!!

I know it's knott Friday, but ....

Isn't every night Friday when you're here in the Centre of the Universe?

It started out simply enough, a couple of King Cobras with Tom on the bridge.

Then I was back at Curry, with a few extra Cobras. Then it was off to Camp 5 in the Curry parking lot, and we just *had* to open that $3.99 Chardonnay. I mean, it's like, California, eh?

And now I'm trying to type?!

Spider diverted to Choss Creek today, due to high winds and cold temps at City of Rocks.

We had to celebrate "cheating-death" with Spider, by seeking a cozy bivy here!

Onto "The City" for climbing adventures early tomorrow!

Nice clouds here tonight!

Details:
Started with a nice Malbec. Then opened the Sonoma County Zin. A great Tuscan Chianti Rufina along with the wonderful dinner prepared by Heidi. After dinner we polished off the rest. 3 bottles three people.

We discussed the other members who were not here, so if your ears were burning tonight, it was about you.

Tomorrow City of Rocks. (Site 24 if you like Chardonnay)

Malbecs are for Thanksgivng turkey and stuffing. Really tasty 5 dolla Primitivo (Italy) at Trader Joes. The label doesn't say anything other than Red Wine but man, ...it's chewy. Have fun and be safe at COR.

How cool, I get to start the festivities tonight.

Okay all you west coast, oak chip, fruit bomb, slag suckers, have I got an interesting wine that is enchanting the hell out of me.

Tenuta delle Terre Nere Etna Bianco from the Carricante varietal. Think tropical fruit and herbs and salt air. Super long minerally finish. Lean and clean and refreshing.

Ahhhh, Firenze! One of my favorite places.

Going dry tonight! Fritz drank me under the table. I had most of a Sterling Chardonnay last night huddled against the cold wind at CoR. Good times with Fritz, Crimpie and Brassnuts.

Tried to get a campsite in Blodgett Canyon tonight but I was too late.

WTF? Nobody has gotten drunk on Friday since June 21?

I'm only still up because I still have half a glass of Hopstoopid and I'm sure not letting it go to waste.

I'm getting up at 4:30am. Pity Me!!

WHY RAIN!?!?!?!??! Was supposed to be jamming my hands in cracks tomorrow, but nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Instead it's "let's be safe and not get electrocuted at 13,500" and put beers in your belly instead, then come home. I decided that mixing this whisky with the earlier beer was a terrible idea, so I fashioned a barrier of sorts between the two by first consuming almost an entire bag of Cheddar and Horseradish potato chips...clearly they will settle and provide the divider that I need to make sure the beer and whisky don't mix and give me issues. I know for a FACT that I won't have a headache tomorrow. That's a goddamn fact.

I was nursing a cup of tea and a Z-pack last night - vicious sinus infection. No thought of the grape or the grain.

Good Friday evening everyone! I am celebrating today's acquisition of my return airplane ticket to Yosemite for this fall's wall season. I'm helping my longtime friend with a writing project, and he returned the favour today with 25,000 United frequent flyer points - yay!

So I'll be in the Ditch from mid-September on, and looking for partners for a couple walls. Hoping to make it El Cap routes #50 and #51 with any luck.

So if you have frequent flyer points, and want to climb a wall with me, we could probably work something out.... ;)

That wasn't much of a segue, was it? Guess I need some more Cab.

I fear I might still be on the wall for the premier of the Wings of Steel movie, but I predict - based on what I have heard from confidential sources - that Steve Grossman will be resoundingly boo'd for what he says in the movie. In fact, I will bet anyone a six-pack of King Cobras that this will be the case. Any takers? I'm getting thirsty already.

Oh yeah, it's back to the ND grind in 2 days.
