I watched the American Curling Coed Team play the South Koreans last night.

Had never before grasped the nuance and purpose of the event but now see it as a fusion of the finesse of pool with the deceiving simplicity of shuffleboard.

I was high at the time which may very well be responsible for this epiphany.

South Koreans won by the way.

Then yer gonna luv the story about the kids hockey coach who tried to choke a parent.

https://www.wkbw.com/news/youth-hockey-coach-charged-with-choking-parent

Probably would have not got in as much trouble if he would have just smashed the parent into the wall.

Jon - both my kids played hockey and ringette and my son played lacrosse as well. I saw a fight during a lacrosse game between the coach of our team, the ref and some parents from both teams. These were nine-year-olds playing. It started because of the perception of a 'bad call'.

I remember some hockey dads - in hockey it was always the dad - yelling at their little boys. For real they screamed at the kids - who were about 7 at the time.

That shzt happens all the time. Hilariously sad .

Not just hockey and not just Dad's.
It happens in many youth sports all the way through high school.
StOOpid parents that reinforce winning over sportsmanship and skill acquisition. As a middle school and high school coach I've witnessed this way too many times and on a few occasions confronted the parent over it. :(

I enjoy the skiing and sliding events Luge and Bobsledding, figure skating not so much.

When does hockey begin? :)

Enjoy the Games all.

I miss Eddie the Eagle. Eddie was actually a good downhill skier, and almost qualified for the Olympic team as a skier, but he could not keep up with the expense of training, the reason he went to jumping.

http://wfla.com/2018/02/09/1988-olympics-eddie-the-eagle-becomes-global-icon-despite-last-place-finish/

Perseverance and determination kept The Eagle flying. In the two years before the 1988 Olympics, he slept in his motherís car, ate food from garbage cans, and received little help from his home country who had never qualified for ski jumping at the Olympic level. Edwards even spent a month in a mental hospital Ė not because he was a patient Ė but to spend a night in the cheapest room they offered, while training in Finland. He actually found out he qualified for the 1988 Olympics in Calgary one night in the asylum after representing Great Britain in the world championships in 1987.

Security must be lax at the Olympics,
there's a bunch of women with skinny ski's on their feet and rifles strapped to their backs shootin up the place. :)
