hey there bobby.... say...
wishing you happy birthday, today....

with a wish, as big as the ol' outdoors...
with spectacular views, of the critters that walk the earth's floors...

wishing you the strength of the very ol' rocks, you have climbed...
may this trigger even more perserverance, as a sturdy-good-remind...

say, and i really must throw in...
some refreshing outdoor breezes, for your brow, to a'skim...

and some crisp, timber-line cloud views...
and much MORE than just a fews...

yep, i'm even wishing out to you...
some fields of wild flowers, some reds, and some blues...

wishing you to taste, some of that there strawberry cake...
and wishing you to feel the friendship, of many a ol' hand shake...

and last, but not least (as i wish for more folks to jump in)...
i wish for you to walk the lands of your love, with some good hard hiking climbs, for a good spin...

happy birthday to you, and to your family, too...
as, say, they birthed ya', and nutured ya', and should share in the fun, and the big t'do!...

as i surely reckon, you all have some rejoicing to do now...
as you're making your homeward climb, day by day, by doing the best, that time will allow...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, YOU OL' ADVENTURER, YOU...
YEP, A RIGHT-FINE HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FOR THE WHOLE DAY THROUGH!...

Happy Birthday!

I tried calling Faithy earlier today, but I wanted to make sure that a birthday wish would be sent your way. I miss you tons, and i am hoping that I will be able to make it out to see you soon. Anyway, I miss you.

Is there somewhere I can send a letter that someone will read to you?

Lots of Love,

Your littlest sister

hey there teenie.... say, there was an address a ways back... i am not sure what the newest one is...

but: here is part of a post, as to limiting visits, etc.... and at the end of this bit that i COPIED, there is sosme phone numbers, if you call, perhaps they can give you the address.... here it all is:

(this is the note, from that update)

...the rehab team and docs and
everyone is in agreement that the amount of visits need to be toned down for
the time being--at least until Bobby builds more endurance. We've also, of
course, asked Bobby if this works for him and he's indicated that this is
what he wants as well. But because a huge (and therapeutic) part of recovery
is the support of friends and family (and we love and appreciate having
people here!) we want to be clear that we're just trying to limit the number
of visitors for the time being, but if you're in town and want to stop by
briefly (usually about 10 minutes) then please just call and we can play it
by ear and let you know if Bobby is feeling up for it. Again, our numbers
are:

Anne: 307-899-1586
Bob: 307-899-0040
Faith: 303-883-6734

Again, thank you all so much for everything!

All the very best to all of you,

Faith

hey there, teenie... sure would be nice if some folks could have taped some voice happy birthdays, to send and play, huh.... just a late thought, for all his friends, out there...
SURE HOPE this helps you get your letter to bobby...

Happy, happy birthday ole'man. In your honour I went on a kick-ass bike ride yesterday (and needless to say, the ass being kicked was mine...). After a while my bike computer/heart rate monitor broke, and that was the best thing could happen because I stopped focusing on the performance and let me mind wander. Guess who I kept thinking of ... So, for the record, you had an AWESOME bike ride yesterday, Bud!

Miss you, thinking of you, love you, and, as always,

I hold you close in the back of my mind,

Charlotte

May 13th Update

Dear All,

Thank you ALL for the tremendous continued support--in all the ways it's
offered. What I do know is that without all of you, this journey would have
been very different for all of us; but thankfully, with you, it's been
filled with the blessings, humor and healing that elevate life to it's
greatest potential. So thank you, thank you.

A quick note to let you all know that Bobby is making great strides! No more
trach, no more IV lines and he started eating today--applesauce and yogurt.
Bobby is channeling so much energy and drive into therapy and he is gaining
strength. There is much to celebrate and there is so much to be grateful
for.

With love and thanks,

Faith

Hi Bobby,

I spent some time with you in Sudan several years ago while I was making a film for the BBC (about the Twic Olympics) and I remember to this day what an inspiring and great guy you are. I also remember quite a few beers consumed soon after in London!! But I never realised the number of people you'd touched and the massive regard you're held in. But I guess that's a measure of the decency and humility of "bomo"!

I'm so glad to hear of all the progress you're making and I will be on here regularly now seeing how you're getting on so stick at it big man.

I'm going to see if I can dig out a picture from that time to add to the amazing collection here.

Love to you and yours.

Dear Bobby,

Amazing that nearly a year has passed since this most recent of your epic adventures began. This is certainly not one you would have chosen, but I guess as the quote goes "life is what happens when you're making other plans." It's incredible to think how far you've come in a year, how many professionals you've astounded with your progress, and how many people you've inspired all over the world (and similarly how many people your mom and Faith have inspired with their love and support). You're a smart man for keeping such wonderful women around you!

Here's to dining on yogurt and applesauce (a better meal than many I'm sure you had on climbing trips!), to continuing to fight the good fight, and to looking back at the end of next year on another period of impressive recovery!

With all our love and lots of California & New Hampshire hugs,
Ab, Jer, Dez and Peso

ps - Dezi is getting dangerously close to crawling (rocks on his hands and knees and then gets utterly confused on where to go from there...literally). He just turned 8 months and my mom's flying in on Saturday for a week of dryland training. I'll send Faith a video clip for you once he's on the move :)
