Agree about Titebond. But back to tape. Years ago I worked in a lab where they built and tested detectors to go up in satellites, and I broke my geeky glasses right across the nose (on a climb - there, this thread is on topic) I wrapped a bit of duct tape around the break, but that stuff only lasted a couple of days. Somebody in the lab rummaged around and found some stuff everybody called "rocket tape", presumably you could fix a boo boo on rocket and it would fly. But it was amazing, lasted literally like ten times as long as duct tape. I never found out what this tape was or where to get it, but that's the stuff you want.

I tried Gorilla Tape and it was not as good as duct tape: too stiff so there were gaps which then failed, the adhesive didn't hold all that long, and didn't stand up to weather extremes at all. Not good stuff.

Kapton tape?
flame retardant polyimide.
Developed in the 60’s by DuPont.

The fabric is good from −452 to 752°F
Silicon base adhesive
It’s usually a metallic bronze or yellowish color.

Used on rockets and heat shields. I have used it for shielding electronics
