Calling out the duck for being a Authoritarian is NOT Being OWNED
No one owns me, that is fact, it's the exact opposite
I'm only of the few skeptics here, that means I am not owned by BS, religions, politics, and con men

And to say that it is, is Pure BS John
why do you fall for such BS
supporting the duck is being owned

the duck saying I'm owned is just more authoritarian BS, just like Trump thinks he owns America now, it's all in their narcissistic mind,

understanding the duck at a psychological level is the only way to deal with such a personality
I did us all a favor by calling him out for what he is

When have the conservatives NOT insulted us progressive liberals?

So if we NOT insult them it will somehow fix our divisions????

Pure fantasy

Insults won't help us, but it sure ain't going to hurt us, because those people will not come around no matter what we do

Only when they realize that the pain and suffering they have to endure was caused by the people they voted for and supported.
Only when their son or daughter is gay or needs an abortion, or is sick, or loses their job and is out on the street will they see what's really going on

They will have to reach rock bottom like a drug addict to see the truth

our only chance is to make sure that the good people VOTE the GOP out of power
Nothing else will work

these dupes will hate us no matter what we do, they believe lies over truth

all you have to do is listen to Rush or Hannity for a couple minutes to see what they believe, the liberals are the enemy to them, we are worse than Russians to them

Jody...Yep, kingtut, that's it. Being against a disastrous, healthcare system that hurt far more people than it helped, means I mock the poor and am a "fake" Christian. brilliant deduction there.

And what the republicans have/wanted is ten times worse.

They couldn't even pass a their own bill with a majority in the house and senate and a republican president.

Your party it controlled by a small number of whack job tea party members. They handed Trump and Ryan both of their asses.

I work as a carpenter building higher end homes, and make a decent wage. I signed up for Obamacare expecting the worst. Instead, I found a plan with excellent coverage for about $200/month with an $800 deductible. That works pretty well for me, as I don't have a lot of extra money to throw around. How is this a disaster?

How is the ACA going to explode? I truly want to know, because I give a damn about my fellow citizens. How is me getting insurance at an affordable rate screwing everyone else? I don't qualify for a policy under the Medicade (or is it Medicare, I confuse the two) expansion.

What's the fallout?

Cosmic stated with certainty

I know none of the Government parties are on obamacare.
We the people are paying for their EXCELLENT Medical coverage!
If they were forced to be on obamacare they would be working hand in hand
40 hours a day to change the insurance and health care system.

Cosmic, everything you said above is just flat wrong

ALL members of the US Congress are on "Obamacare" i.e., the ACA

All members of congress are employed by the Federal government and all members
pay a certain amount out of their own pockets for their healthcare

Have you ever considered how little effort it takes to do a little research and get your facts
correct first, prior to forming opinions? There is no excuse other than being lazy

A more appropriate comparison would be to large corporations and organizations rather than the individual market. Most large corporations self-insure as well. If you want to talk about before 2014 and the onset of AHCA provisions as the way to go, you must be kidding. Here is a plot of what my insurance premiums were during that time when we began to have to buy on the individual market. Interesting that that the critics act like steeply climbing insurance premiums began with Obamacare. My premiums increased by 156% in 4 years. Also, there were no subsidies for low-income individuals. Since a majority of people get their coverage through employers or Medicare, there was plenty of ignorance on the issue to exploit

Mind you, this was when insurers could deny coverage for pre-existing conditions. Those could be pretty lame justifications as judged as for my wife, who had a completely successful non-surgical procedure to treat frozen shoulder. She was instead "offered" coverage under a "high risk" plan for twice my premium. Also, my plan was a high deductible ($5,000 increasing to $6,000. The steep drop was went I went on to Medicare. The total includes Part B, supplemental and drug coverage, which is much better than my earlier plan. Note the much shallower increases.

Youve got a casino man as a president.

He sees all of you along a spectrum of consumers set against your value to him. So ling as you each bring in your minimum hes happy. He doesnt want you to leave, just make up your worth so he can profit.

Trumpcare lets him see what your worth as medical consumers. He dont five a guck euther way, he just needs to know so you can be off set. You pay a little more for your drinks, eat a few less free canapes, he doesnt have to take it from the highrollers upstairs.

Dem, rep, christian, mexican - whatever. All just brands with a price. Why fill up on migrants who dont spend when southern white losers pay twice as much on ammo and gasoline? No brainer.

The ideal is taxing 'freedom' and minimal overheads. Christians perfect cos guaranteed you will brainwash your kids into it too. Saves on marketing, maxs on advertising. Keep it simple.

Same for the dope smokers.

Only problem is this guy managed to bankrupt a casino...think about that.
My guess he partied too hard with the highrollers, too many call girls, too many free drinks. Then the losers on holiday downstairs couldnt float the difference. Bummer.
But bankruptings easy. Flee before it becomes terminal, write off the loss towards the next thing.

Good luck with this. Keep thinking you might win if you just stick at it. Maybe you will walk away with the hotel room covered. But know your hard earned is now in someone elses pocket and you just made their gamble worh it even if yours wasnt.

Oh and the canapes were stale too.

Here's what the tangerine wants to destroy:

Accomplishments of the ACA

Implementation of the ACA has produced several positive health care benefits[1, 4].

• The rate of uninsured Americans declined from between 16.3% and 18% for 2010 to 2013 (before implementation of the ACA) to between 9.1% and 11% for 2015 to 2016, which to my knowledge are the lowest uninsured rates recorded to date in the United States.[6, 7] The rates are even lower among states that implemented the ACA Medicaid expansion compared with states that did not (7% vs 14%).[8] As a result, 20 million of the previously 48 million uninsured Americans gained health care insurance. This improved their access to health care, their financial security, and their health.

• The health care exchange market provides subsidies (financial assistance) to families with incomes between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level so that they can have health care insurance at a reduced cost.

• For states that are willing to accept federal assistance, the ACA Medicaid expansion covers individuals and families with incomes up to 138% of the federal poverty level (this includes adults without disabilities and without dependent children).

• Dependents (children) can remain under the insurance of their parents up to the age of 26 years.
Insurance companies cannot deny health care coverage based on preexisting medical conditions. This could have potentially affected as many as one-third of Americans. Insurers also are prohibited from canceling insurance in the event of sickness (a surprising but not uncommon occurrence before the ACA).

• Minimum acceptable health care coverage standards and benefits are required for health insurance policies. This protects patients against insurance that would be worthless in the case of serious illness, and from significant deductibles.
Insurers cannot cap the amount of care received annually or in the patient's lifetime. This helps patients to avoid abandoning care because of financial burdens.

• Reasonable caps are proposed on annual and lifetime out-of-pocket expenses.

• Patients cannot be denied coverage of, and access to, clinical trials.[9, 10]

• The Medicare Part D coverage gap is being reduced gradually and will be closed completely by 2020. This coverage gap, commonly referred to as the “doughnut hole,” describes high out-of-pocket expenses on oral medications provided to senior Americans covered under Medicare.

• Health care spending is projected to be 20% less than anticipated.[11, 12]

• On average, the trends for increases in health care insurance coverage and costs are lower than in the periods preceding implementation of the ACA.[13]

• Insurance companies are required to spend 80% to 85% of their revenues on actual health care. This figure previously was as low as 50% to 60%. As a reference point, Medicare spends 97% of revenues on health care.

• Approval/disapproval rates of the ACA have varied over time, depending on polling sources, how the questions are framed, and ideological beliefs, as well as ethnicity and age groups.[14] Recent polls have demonstrated that more people approve of the ACA.

• Approval rates are reported to be 61% among Hispanic and 91% among African American individuals.[15] Approval rates are higher among younger Americans compared with seniors. Approximately 80% of ACA enrollees are satisfied with their coverage. The approval rate is 91% for those covered by Medicaid.[16]

• To date, none of the dire predictions of ACA implementation have materialized (ACA death spiral, “death panels,” increased costs of care, soaring insurance premiums, massive insurance cancellations, job killing, etc).

The well-named AHCA (Trumpcare) also was designed to accelerate the collapse of the Medicare Trust Fund and to functionally destroy much of Medicaid.

NY Times:

"Practically every wealthy capitalist democracy in the world has decided that some form of government-managed universal health care is the most sensible and effective option."

"The point of universal coverage is to pool risk, for the maximum benefit of the individual when he or she needs care.

And the point of having the government manage this complicated service is not to take freedom away from the individual. The point is the opposite: to give people more freedom.

Arranging health care is an overwhelming task, and having a specialized entity do the negotiating, regulating and perhaps even much of the providing is just vastly more efficient than forcing everyone to go it alone."

Brandon, excellent questions.

1st, it's Medicaid. (MediCal in California)

2nd, as Trump and Ryan discovered, healthcare is very complicated. There are a lot of moving parts, and for it all to work, all those parts have to work harmoniously.

The strategy, as suggested by Jody, and I think largely correct, is that the Administration, who has to actually make the machinery work, is in a position to screw around with various parts....they don't have to be big and obvious. For example, His Highness cancelled the marketing budget. It would be easy to freeze the salaries of people working on Obamacare, then not fill the jobs, causing things to take a lot of time to make happen.

Slowing the payments to insurance companies and doctors makes neither happy, just like it would not, for you. All those Rolls-Royce's to pay off!

There are a lot of ways to sabotage the system.
