Biotch.... the bolts I have experience with were 5/16 button heads. The bolts look good. Only problem is that they are lying on the ground along with about 12 inches of granite sand that somehow exfoliated.

Now Clark Canyon is a different type of stone, heck the fire might have baked it into a harder, more brick like, surface.

anybody been there? or are the roads closed.

I've never seen glue-ins at Clark. Looking forward to some pics and/or visiting just to see what's what.

Anyone know if those trees in the last photo will survive the fire damage?

Wow. Great news! I was hoping a bunch of those trees would make it, especially the ones close to the cliff. If those trees are okay, I don't really have any worries about the hardware.

Thanks for the pics!

How about the road? Did they do anything to make that one spot past the last gate a little more friendly?

No such luck. The road past the gate is still rocky for a short section.

I guess they didn't run a 'dozer along the road. That would have taken care of the rocky section.

Just curious, why was that road built?

Steve....every time I go out there, I add a rock to that section, to help keep out the riff raff.

: )

Someone has to do it, Dean. :-)

Not sure a dozer would really have even done anything to that section. If you look at it, the road there has actually eroded down to the foundational bedrock of the hill itself. Short of blasting or hammering it flat, what it really needs is a load of gravel dumped on top to smooth it out. Then maybe some water bars to keep snowmelt and storm runoff from rutting it up again.

Matt... thanks for the pictures. Looks like the place came through OK.

Maybe now is a good time to reroute the trails, build some water blocks and watch it all renew.

Some good news.

A couple loads of asphalt would fix that one spot and keep it from ever eroding.

The road in works just fine the way it is, especially the rocky part.

If we get a decent winter the wildflowers will be amazing in the spring.

Oh NO again... It does seem like the same area looking north from my back yard... 'started around 2 or 3 hours ago...
Or it may be Trump making a preemptive strike with a "small tactical nuke" east of the Crowley Lake area, taking out a wood cutter's truck with a "I'm with HER" bumper sticker...
All kidding aside, this is a big fire already...
