Leaders like Putin and Kim Jong-un suffer when they lose the world's attention for too long a period. They then act out in various ways to prove they are still relevant. Both country's problem isn't so much relevancy, however, as it is internal corruption and an inability to find a stable place in the world's economy.

Trump is exactly of this same ilk - unstable, attention seeking in the extreme, and fundamentally unfit in every way for the office he's seeking.

The world is currently experiencing a lot of turmoil: dropping energy prices disrupting economies like Russia, the enduring wake of our decision to sh#t-stir the Mideast, and a rising China attempting to claim a place on the world's stage. What we for sure don't need right now is yet another erratic and egocentric world leader without a clue or a plan.

That's all you guys got - personal attacks and media sound bites.

That wasn't a personal attack, it was an observation that you've become overly dramatic and working yourself into a frenzy - by way of a really bad climbing analogy think sewing-machine politics.

There is open talk of revolution among some people, like the woman I linked earlier, at a Pence rally.

After the righteous beheadings and bloodletting by the constitutional and freedom loving militias, Radical can be the new Minister of Hate. Werner of course will be Minister of Information.

Again, the gop died and what has replaced it is the fringe-right which is essentially dominated by a mass persecution-complex, hysteria and hate. Rational thought is out the window replaced by an almost pentecostal, speaking-in-tongues form of tabloid politics.

The hysteria on display in Riley's posts and that woman's talk of revolt are symptoms of the disease which has taken hold of the right.

Thinking republicans like some here and folks like McCain, Bill Buckley and David Brooks are now political refugees adrift at sea without a party. If anything, they are conservative democrats by today's standards.

Bottom line facts:

* You are a white, middle-class male - you are not oppressed, assaulted, deprived, persecuted, put upon, stripped of freedoms, or living under the shadow of tyranny (outside of the prospect of a trump regime in power). The government is not out to get you and you and your guns could not stop them even if they were. On the contrary, most of you are government beneficiaries in more ways than you can count.

* The gop has steadfastly refused to govern and instead has been obstructionist at every single turn and vote for the past eight years.

* There isn't 'too much government' regulation and oversight - if anything it's been hamstrung, lacks enforcement resources and is way behind the curve in terms of keeping pace with the evolution of the market place. Wells Fargo's CEO just retired with a $134mil payout after reigning over a decade of unbridled fraud across that enterprise - and that's just the bank we know about. That's normal corporate behavior absent appropriate government oversight.

* Our economy is not teetering on the brink, the debt is not unmanageable.

* We spend more on the military the rest of the world combined - our military readiness is not currently impaired on any front.

* You cannot have for-profit entities involved with delivering basic healthcare. Period.

* Just the concept of for-profit prisons is abhorrent, let alone having implemented them.

* Yes Virginia, there is institutional racism in law enforcement across the country. Period. There is still ignorant and unfettered racism across our society - we have no shortage of folks here who are either explicitly racist or implicitly so and just don't quite understand why anyone would consider them racists and bigots.

* The right has dug us a decades-long hole in the sh#t storm that is the Mideast - as a result the fringe-right is now schizophrenic: pull out or go all in and of course neither is the answer. In fact, there are no good answers and that's why one should ideally refrain from preemptive wars designed solely to restore white-male world dominance.

* The internet and sophisticated transportation systems mean material and jobs are now constantly moving around the world. Trump is not bringing any jobs back to the US unless you mean the white kids he imports from the EU to work in his hotels in lieu of Americans. The answer to jobs is skills and education which our derelict system of 50k local school boards do a lousy job of delivering.

* Benghazi affair is wholly fabricated, politically motivated and delusionally contrary to the facts of the events on the ground at the time.

* The email 'scandal' is simply a matter of political systems attempting to adapt to technology - it was no different with the introduction of the telegraph. And you couldn't be so naive as to think trump's real thoughts, orders and communications would ever be conducted through government email systems are you? He'd install pigeons and ravens on the roof of the iron throne before that would happen.

* Trump's whole schtick represents and embodies everything that is at once crass, self-interested and deviant in our culture - he is is summarily unfit for the office.

Yes, great recap. +

Especially that part about our debt not being unmanageable. That earned quite a chuckle.

And the conspicuously missing reality that our foreign policy has no strategy or direction whatsoever which, for those keeping score, has been run by a democrat for the last 8 years.

Reach arounds and braj hugs all around. Well done mateys.

that our foreign policy has no strategy or direction whatsoever

Except that would be entirely incorrect. Our foreign policy for the past eight years has been to manage the complete world-wide sh#t storm we inherited from the previous administration's neocon military adventurism and economic mismanagement. That was an exercise in wrong-way foreign policy which will take decades to clean up.

Exactly what non-military, strategic foreign policy initiatives would you like to see implemented which are not currently being addressed?

Debt? Deficit? Completely manageable. Want to lower the debt-to-gdp ratio? Look no further than here:

interesting that individual taxes went up and corporate down in 1984 and 2004. hmmm... wonder what parties were in power then...

Thanks for self-identifying as another ST Politard that doesn't even know the difference between debt and deficit. Or how to manage a simple balance sheet or income statement.

I guess that would explain why you think our debt is perfectly manageable and chose to deflect away from our foreign policy (or lack thereof).

Its been 8 years and you people are still making excuses for Obeezy's lack of foreign policy correction that you were sooooo angry about during the elections.

Oh as a small business owner I actually do know the difference between debt, deficit and how to manage a balance sheet. And I know the debt and deficit are both manageable based on the ongoing strength of our economy and the level of current and future innovation. Again, want a lower debt-to-gdp ratio? Tax corporations and the rich for their fair share - neither pays anywhere near their own freight at the moment.

Again, exactly what non-military, strategic foreign policy do you think isn't being addressed.
