This last point is the disease that has inflicted the Republican and Democratic parties for all time....and why they never get anything done....or simply solve one problem only to create a new one. I think we can ALL agree that this status quo is disgusting, and we are all SICK of it.

I don't agree. I think we live in the greatest country in the world (other than Canada!) We have astonishing freedoms, both legally and socially, than almost anyone else.

Reading this, it makes me think that you are a young man, with relatively little experience in the world, or the country, for that matter. During the last century, women got the right to vote and own property. Blacks got the right not to be lynched. I could go on for hours about how things have improved, but wnn't. Suffice to say that "the good old days" are right now.
The Dems and Repubs DO get things done. Not always what I'd like, not always quickly, not always reasonable.

But what I DO like about him is this.......he is neither Republican nor Democrat in his approach to the problems facing our nation. He is.....a pragmatist. From our stagnant economy, to our trade deficits, to our illegal immigration problems, to the corruption in government, to violence in our neighborhoods, and terror around the world.......he does not see these as Republican or Democrat problems. He sees them as things that need fixing, and not be appeasing one group of people or the other.

What you do not seem to realize, by your writing, is what Trump is pragmatic ABOUT: and that is TRUMP.

The example that most struck me was when Great Britain voted to Brexit.
He strongly favored it. Why? Because he thought the plunge in value of the pound would make it much more likely for people to visit his GOLF COURSE. It is ALL about Trump.

Look at his record of business: Not enough profit, don't pay the workers, he's got plenty of lawyers on staff, they can't afford to sue.
Screw your partners. Set up scams to take advantage of desperate people.
(If you don't think so, attend Trump University to better yourself).
Make a BIG ASS DEAL about buying American, then buy your stuff for resale overseas. Whatever benefits HIM.

You are talking about giving such a person unlimited power. What do you think he will do when things don't go his way? Just step back, like Obama did when the Supreme Court ruled against him? You are friggin nuts. I would expect those justices to get PERSUASION.

Finally, we have someone who is NOT beholding to high priced donors seeking favors, or special interest groups currying a free pass. We have someone who, like us all, sees a problem and wants it fixed once and for ALL.

In other words, has absolutely no allegiance to ANY voters or group of voters. None to the party, and what it stands for.

He sees a problem:

Like illegal immigration. For the last several years, there has been NO net illegal immigration. WHAT PROBLEM IS HE FIXING?

Meanwhile, the Democrat Party has....

subverted their own nomination process in order to ensure that a short-circuiting tech-IDIOTIC (being charitable) criminal is their nominee.

Actually, that is not true. What is true was that the DNC talked about doing things, but never actually did anything to subvert Sanders.

Wouldn't you love to see the the private emails of the Repugs, and what they discussed about "the Donald?" I'm sure you'd see the same sorts of things.

I would have liked to give Bernie a chance, but he did not indicate the willingness to compromise. It was shame he was torpedoed, but it is a done deal now and we have to look forward. When did compromise become treason?

If you aren't will to compromise, you will be ineffective in a world that is so diverse and changing daily. It does not matter which side you are on. Representing your beliefs and predilections is a good thing, fanaticism and hardline rhetoric is just playing to a world that no longer exists, or the lunatic fringe. Too much of that lately.

I see the same in Trump. As a brash person myself, I have no issues with how he phrases things. He's honest and direct. I dig that.

He is here to fix things, not dance around with people who are too 'sensitive', or are easily offended.

Oh, does that mean that you work with the ni**ers and Mexcrement, in spite of their uselessness? I dig that!

... but never actually did anything to subvert Sanders.

You say this as if you know it's a fact.

You say this as if you know it's a fact.

I think it is, inasmuch as the things that were discussed to damage Bernie never actually came to pass.

So then you are left with things that have not been revealed in the emails, nor discussed by Bernie, nor otherwise exposed....in other words, imaginary.

So then we are left with who has done the most imaginary harm to whom?

Now what was it that Sanders sued the DNC over... Oh yeah, DWS turning off his access to the DNC voter system...

And if you think that's the only thing, then I have a private email server to sell you.

And was that one of the things revealed in the emails, as something planned to torpedo him?

That's a deflection, Ken.

EDIT:

So then you are left with things that have not been revealed in the emails, nor discussed by Bernie, nor otherwise exposed....in other words, imaginary.

What is imaginary is your memory.

I don't mind that he's brash, but he's dumber than a sack of hammers. He actually said in an interview that Russia is not currently in Ukraine. He's a complete buffoon--a male Sarah Palin.

And WHY did the DNC cut off access?

Was it, as you seem to allege, just a stunt to hurt him? If so, why do the emails not support that? The "smoking gun" seems to be clean and oiled.

Now what was it that Sanders sued the DNC over... Oh yeah, DWS turning off his access to the DNC voter system...

Because Sanders' staffers (who were then fired) accessed parts of the DNC database they were not supposed to be in. Please don't twist the story to fit your personal narrative.

I think we probably both hold real doubts in addition to that hope.

True dat!

I'm a prisoner of hope, even though game theory strongly suggests that the situation is hopeless. Each new low we plumb just greases the skids for the next new low.

I pity the next generation! I mean that. Somebody's gonna pay for all this insanity. Most of us posting here will probably be gone when the piper won't have his can kicked down the road any farther.

"He's a complete buffoon--a male Sarah Palin."

Word

But since he is male and bought a hot wife, way more angry white men are willing to accept him.

The thing with his daughter creeps me out, but he brought it on himself. Many people love his candor, but are willing to make excuses for him when says bat sh*t crazy or creepy stuff. Says more about about them than Trump...
