jammer lost me...is he/she arguing that this incident is somehow going to effect who gets the GOP nomination?? Huh? The 2 front-runners say something crazy every hour and you think anyone is going to remember that a Bush intern asked Trump something at a just-another-campaign event? You can't be serious.

Actually, jammer, you haven't called me on anything--just insults. And I don't recall attacking you so I'm not sure what your problem is. But you seem intent on insulting me, so have a nice day.

in general things are ok, economy recovered and out of the Republican recession,
unemployment numbers much better, no more are thousands dying in Iraq,
tens of millions more have healthcare......

Do you really believe that is TRUE???????

There has been no recovery... only the stats have been changed. Try counting all of the unemployed people... they don't count. People are still dying in Iraq.. FYI And tens of millions MORE have coverage! Most people I know have worse HC then ever. They Pay a ton more for much less.

Get Real Dude.

Yes, guyman, it is true.

From the standpoint of general metrics, the economy is better off than it was in 2008, unemployment is lower, there are fewer troops fighting & dying in a useless war, and more people have healthcare coverage (key difference: insurers feet will be legally held to the flame when there's a claim).

Of course it's true that most of the economic benefits that have occurred in the recovery have gone to the 1%, there are still too many people fighting and dying in Bush's wars, and that our health insurance system needs a sh#t-ton of work (say it with me: 'Public Option').

Just remember this, though- the Party you voted for created this sh#t-hole. And you voted for them twice. Why do you keep taking their bait?

App.... I voted for Obama, McCain was one dumb ass for letting Sara on the ticket...... 2nd time around ... I figured Mit could do a better job.

This time.... Im still kicking tires. But you can bet Im not going to go for a Clinton (unless its Bill) OR a Bush.

Speaking of Bill (who I'd vote for again in a heart beat). He pointed out on The Late Show that Trump has a short half-life. I thought that an interesting calculation.

a Bush intern asked Trump something at a just-another-campaign event? You can't be serious.

Who will remember?

That's the rub. Trump will remember, when he decides whether the establishment party has treated him fairly, or whether he will launch a third party attempt.

People want to dis him, but should remember that at this moment it time, he has the almost exclusive ability to decide who the next president will be, by his actions.

It will also be remembered by that portion of the GOP voters who have total distrust for the establishment party faction.....and attacking "one of their own" just feeds into that.

This is potentially a very big deal

Guyman, it may just be my impression, but the number of flag-draped coffins coming back to the US has dramatically dropped.

This is not to dismiss foreigners who die in wars that we began, but still it is an important hallmark to most Americans.

More innocent people than ever are being killed in the Middle East - just not white people.

I guess that's good.

The bottom line is that the economy is doing far better than in 2008. Yes, it could be better, perhaps it could've happened a bit sooner, yes, too much of the improvements are still going to waaaayyy too few people....

But it's a helluva lot better than the way the last Republican administration left it.

So since the GOP doesn't have a shitty economy to use as their campaign fodder, they have to find something else...or just plain make sh#t up.

True Dat.... When W went and removed about 1.5 trillion and handed it over to the bankers to cover up their folly.....That sort of blew it for me as far as the REPUB party goes, you know- as the party of fiscal restraint.

Now IMHO the DEMS blow money like drunken sailors... but they don't tell you they are not drunken sailors.

Don't discount Trump.... the man is pretty smart (smarter than everyone on the repub side except for Carley and the Doctor) and knows how to do a deal. Give him some time, he will change positions on everything, and before you know it his positions might just sound like your positions.
Wait and see...

I am enjoying all the back and forth.... good debate tonight. Got the popcorn all set.

Funny thing, though...every time that someone calls out how the economy has improved when a Dem POTUS took office, one of the usual ST Repub economist types always downplays it as circumstantial, and that there were economic elements at work at the time that would have seen economic improvement, regardless of who was in the WH.

Hard to see how to apply that argument to 2008. The economy was spiralling, and it had about as direct manipulation as could happen in today's financial/economic political world. A Dem administration stepped in, and will walk away 8 years later with a clear economic upswing.

I'm sure Repubs will find some kind of rationalization, though.

App.... I guess the 1990's decade is what I use to set my own internal gauge about just what a good economy looks and feels like.....

Remember HEAD HUNTERS???? calling almost everyday.

I do.... and that aint happening.

When I travel to other parts of the country... I do see homes getting built and malls and not as many "for Lease" signs as I see here in LA.

I worry about the future for my kids.... it seems quite dead here in CA.

You're all wrong. The Republican nominee for president will be ......Mitt Romney. Really, the clown car doesn't have anyone who will beat Hillary; the convention will be deadlocked and the backroom boys will call on.....Mitt. Thirds the charm. Plus, he really, really wants it. And so does his wife; it's 'their turn'.
