Oh, yeah, then there's the poop issue. If I pooped on your lawn, or on your personal turf, dog owners, what would you think?
I would think I was still living in Santa Monica and you were a Bag Lady taking a dump in between rifling the neighborhood trash cans for recyclable beer bottles.

Off White: Our condolences on the loss of your stock & the wreck of your long-term breeding program.
Loose dogs suck, & a rural pack of loose dogs is dangerous to anything alive.

However, tonight, I heard a car skid on a street behind our house and a dog yelp and start whimpering, then silence. I immediately felt better. All is well.
That's f*#ked up.

We have always had dogs growing up, and cats, they always got along. Even the goats.
Some cats can be afraid of rabbits, that said I was not happy earlier in the year when (the late) Boots hopped up on my office winow sill with a dead baby rabbit in his mouth.
When I moved to Enniskerry (Co Wicklow, sheep country) back in 1997, people warned me not to let (the late) Ci out during lambing season or he would be shot. Of course he was born in north Wales, sheep country, border collie-lab and he would never attack another animal.
Of course, that is what people say about their dogs. "Fido would never do that."
They are pack animals and put them in a pack and they can get bloodlust.
In California, when we had a rabbit missing, raccoons, they can rip down that 14 gauge wire mesh on the rabbit hutch with ease.
If eggs were broken or missing, skunks. Though I think we had one hen whose toe was bitten off by a skunk, not sure.
When we went up to one of the coops after commotions, and every chicken dead (but not eaten), domestic dogs. A whole coop slaughtered (several times) for nothing but bloodlust.
Our dogs used to guard the chicken coop against other dogs.
I agree with other posters, most of the time it is the dog owner to blame for an unruly dog.
And I have always picked up afer my dogs, always, with the exception of Aggie ONLY doing it in the surf when we are at the beach, the tide washes it away before I can get to it, though I have picked it up out of the tide a couple of time. I have to say, she is picky about only going in the surf at the beach, I've never seen that before.
Most of the other dog walkers I walk with and meet do pick up after pooch, the few that don't, I should say something but I don't anymore. I do not need the trouble.
Let's face it though, what smell worse, cat poo or dog poo?
Another pet peeve of mine is, Ballytrent beach is very popular with horse riders, and they never pick up horse manure, sort of like walking along the trail by the Royal Arches, Ahwahnee and the stables.
And BTW, I love horses, wish I had a couple. Would I pick up after them? I'd make sure they went in the surf. ;-)

Off White, have you decided, or is it early days, to continue with your breeding program or pack it just because some nutters dogs were let loose to terrorize?

Never take a puppy fishing. They chase your lure and might get hooked. Leave them on the porch.
