The wind chimes and mobiles on the porch took it pretty hard the other night in the windstorm.

Three of the six swung off their hooks and hit the deck, but only one had anything broken.

"In my life, I have watched John Kennedy talk on television about missiles in Cuba. I saw Lyndon Johnson look Richard Russell squarely in the eye and and say, "And we shall overcome." I saw Richard Nixon resign and Gerald Ford tell the Congress that our long national nightmare was over. I saw Jimmy Carter talk about malaise and Ronald Reagan talk about a shining city on a hill. I saw George H.W. Bush deliver the eulogy for the Soviet bloc, and Bill Clinton comfort the survivors of Timothy McVeigh's madness in Oklahoma City. I saw George W. Bush struggle to make sense of it all on September 11, 2001, and I saw Barack Obama sing "Amazing Grace" in the wounded sanctuary of Mother Emanuel Church in Charleston, South Carolina.

These were the presidents of my lifetime. These were not perfect men. They were not perfect presidents, god knows. Not one of them was that. But they approached the job, and they took to the podium, with all the gravitas they could muster as appropriate to the job. They tried, at least, to reach for something in the presidency that was beyond their grasp as ordinary human beings. They were not all ennobled by the attempt, but they tried nonetheless.

And comes now this hopeless, vicious buffoon, and the audience of equally hopeless and vicious buffoons who laughed and cheered when he made sport of a woman whose lasting memory of the trauma she suffered is the laughter of the perpetrators. Now he comes, a man swathed in scandal, with no interest beyond what he can put in his pocket and what he can put over on a universe of suckers, and he does something like this while occupying an office that we gave him, and while endowed with a public trust that he dishonors every day he wakes up in the White House.

The scion of a multigenerational criminal enterprise, the parameters of which we are only now beginning to comprehend. A vessel for all the worst elements of the American condition. And a cheap, soulless bully besides. Watch him again, behind the seal of the President of the United States. Isn't he a funny man? Isn't what happened to that lady hilarious? Watch the assembled morons cheer. This is the only story now."

thank you for that

Danke sure isn't the way that Tricky Dick was a two headed snake, opening talks with China while furthering the big mistake.
There were redeeming, even human frailties that could be called endearing by someone
Not a whore monger like this crapperdweller. A simply disgusting example of a heathen human, nothing redeeming & not the least bit a drunk. I grew up & lived a long time by
never trust a man who won't share a beer, never trust a man who doesn't drink.
And the other truth that still holds a ton, a weighty saying

Those that do not learn history, are doomed to repeat it

It's a Two-Bob Friday Night.
It could be a Three-Bob Night, but I don't think it wise to post any more Bob F photos...😉

Have fun, son.

What put us off?

Steep, pretty outta shape, easier prey, hard rating, chickensh#t, or any combo thereof.

I think we adjourned to the bowling alley? Maybe that was when we bailed on...hmm

Or did we go back to camp and play 'shoes all day?

There was liquor, too. Bushmills cuz they had no Yukon Jack.

The bottle of YJ we consumed most of on the WAY to JT, and then had a few snorts and that was all we's brought, so the first day we got to HV we had to drive back in to YV and see what they had at the store...the Bushmills.

I remember all-night marathons of Risk among four of us. No climbs stand out. I never appreciated JT like lots seem to do. Familiarity helps.
Maybe been there six times, no more. I like longer climbs anyway.

What put us off? You had to be there, so I just tried to take you there.

The BraveCowboy - did you do that after reading it here? If so, do you see me using his old moniker anywhere? & you spelled it wrong!
Like, it is not a well known to some. To many it is obvious.

Still, most can't figure it out, (a good thing)
I fear that you will have sent him underground again,(not a good thing)
no doubt.

I just got a dog as well. Xander is a Pit, Cane Corso mix. He’s 9 weeks old. My wife and I are working a lot with him while he’s so small and malleable to keep him comfortable with new people, licking not biting, and not chasing the cats. We’ve only had him for a week, but so far so good. Our 9 year old Lab, Tioga, is doing a fantastic job with helping us raise him. It’s really remarkable to watch how gentle, yet firm he is with the puppy. I’ll be following this thread for sure. Maybe I’ll get some advice, and maybe I can share some. Xander is my third puppy in 13 years, so I’m no expert, but it’s not my first rodeo either.

Oh, FFS you just can not be serious The one who can not control himself has a loaded gun dog. I am not sympathetic, I have the addictive propensity, I know it, I deal , it takes strength, it is what makes the make up of a respectable, responsible person, period, no if or but, If you have a problem with X, Y or Z, do not use, any.

While we are all rooting for & cheering, Supporting his sobriety, I am glad he is following chemical intervention & in-treatment care so as not to die. Also my concern stretches to the neglected Pit-Bull mix, & any breeding that might be in the future of the family, to add glue to make a man of him or whatever misguided thing is masquerading as love that has Boy Brandon's wife sticking by her man, not a nice person ? is that what you think when I say the above, life has its way of being very cruel to sighted people who, decide toi be blind

I see we have lots of Music and you can't have MELODRAMA without music by definition, almost.

ST is the nexus of climbing and melodrama.

mel·o·dra·ma
/ˈmeləˌdrämə/
noun
1.
a sensational dramatic piece with exaggerated characters and exciting events intended to appeal to the emotions.

Origin: Melos (Fr) + Drame (Gr) = melodrame > melodrama

Is there royalty in the house again?

Is this the real life?

Is this just fantasy?

Scaramouch, Scaramouch will you do the Fandango?

Grafitti: "Gnome ofthe Diabase loves to climb small faces."

BONUS LAFF TRACK PLUS: You're the last one that should be critical of misspellings, lad.🤣🤣🤣
