South of Oklahoma, east of New Mexico,
West of Louisiana, where all them Cajuns go
We gotta a little place called Texas
Where the women grow on trees
There right there for the pickin'
Just as easy as you please
We'd better run take hold
You're gonna get young 'fore ya get old
Them Texas women is Texas gold
Kisses that are sweeter than cactus
Oh
North of Amarillo, east of old Dime Box
You can find a Cinderella
Or a genuine Goldilocks
And if ya don't like love attachments,
**If your taste in women gets strange
Go on and spend the money my friend
Down in old La Grange**
You better run tell the world
You wanna get a Lone Star girl
With her cast iron curls
Her a woman of dimples
And they're so simple
North of Waxahachie, east of old Cowtown
Them Dallas women standing up
Beat the others lyin' down
But God blessed the Trinity River
And any man who is unaware
of those northeast Texas women
With the cotton candy hair
You'd better run take hold
You're gonna get young 'fore ya get old
Them Texas women is Texas gold
Kisses that are sweeter than cactus
Oh

Feeling a little down, may be:
Acid Stratification
The electrolyte of a stratified battery concentrates at the bottom, starving the upper half of the cell. Acid stratification occurs if the battery dwells at low charge (below 80 percent), never receives a full charge and has shallow discharges.

...clouds are nice.
Both Sides Now
Joni Mitchell
Rows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere
I've looked at clouds that way
But now they only block the sun
They rain and snow on everyone
So many things I would have done
But clouds got in my way
I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down and still somehow
It's cloud's illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all
Moons and Junes and ferries wheels
The dizzy dancing way you feel
As every fairy tale comes real
I've looked at love that way
But now it's just another show
You leave 'em laughing when you go
And if you care, don't let them know
Don't give yourself away
I've looked at love from both sides now
From give and take and still somehow
It's love's illusions I recall
I really don't know love at all
Tears and fears and feeling proud,
To say "I love you" right out loud
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds
I've looked at life that way
But now old friends they're acting strange
They shake their heads, they say I've changed
Well something's lost, but something's gained
In living every day
I've looked at life from both sides now
From win and lose and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all
I've looked at life from both sides now
From up and down, and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all

"Woks a Hah Chi" is how it's pronounced according to a former resident who used to buy beer rounds for us bar-flies and talk about Texas this, Texas that, Texas the other thing, and tell us how Buddy Holly was his write-in candidate every presidential election even though he was dead.
We called this guy Tex, but his real name was Arthur. He was manager of the Monkey Ward Automotive Repairs here for years.
He kept the juke box playing with his skill at dice. Sam, the cute blonde bartender, couldn't seem to beat him.
I never had any luck, either. The store eventually closed when MW went under and he moved somewhere else.
Anyway, that's how he said a native Texan from the area would say Waxahatchee.

Did you say Downey? My bro lived in Downey. I served a subpoena on his landlord.

That fluffy arena surface sure LOOKS softer than it is, huh? And that guy in the helmet didn't fall all that far.
Nice pix this a.m., DMT. Didn't see them last night. Thanks!

^^^Isn't she lovely, Stevie Wonder?
I don’t recall ever drilling a bolt on a climb, although both Bob Kamps and Tom Higgins did while climbing with me on first ascents. However I did drill a little ¼” Rawl Drive into a big boulder that I could barely lift. I hung it with thin piano wire from the patio sun roof in front of my apartment at the Lauridsons. When looking out the glass front of the apartment, you couldn’t see the piano wire and the boulder seemed to be floating above the swimming pool and the LA skyline with a mysterious size perspective. My friends were speculating on how long the boulder could stay suspended as it twisted in the breezes. It was still there when I left for the last time to live in Yosemite Camp 4.

Tom, if you catch this, I loved your war stories. A real pleasure visiting with such a WEIRD guy...we don't get many 'round here.

For others, it's a large meal.
Salad days over, soup course consumed, our hungry hero digs in on the entree.
Check out Pat Ament's FB page...lately he's publishing some Higgins stuff that'll bring smiles to your face.
