sometimes your Elders DO know what they're talking about.

6 days. seems way too long to still be in big pain. Don't just hang in there.
Checkin with your dentist right away. And Do What He Says!

by the way, I too used to think pain was No Big Deal. "Tough it out wimp!"
Then I married a nurse. Only took me a couple of very painful procedures to start taking her advice to control pain before it starts. That approach really works.
