At least you got a couple free days. I did not. Sorry bud... I have always told people that by far the worst surgery I've had was wisdom teeth

I woke up to a sweaty mason hammering and chiseling on my skull from inside my mouth with his knee on my chest. I suggest the deepest sleep that your insurance will pay for.

What they said... If you can't get percs see if you can get a script for t3 from the dentist.. That freezing lasted awhile for you eh? :) swelling will suck for the next day or so. Cold drinks, smoothies, no straws! Cold stuff will help sooth the swelling.. Popsicle.. But don't go crazy sucking on it..

Oh sh*t. I am so sorry. Go big if you can (Percocet, Vicodin)...I don't think Ibu will help much. And sleep, if you can, sleep it off.
Good luck...it will eventually pass.

get a script for the most powerful pain med you can get. Fill it..

Keep a few for your emergency kit.

you do have an emergency kit don't you? Next time you tweak your body you might be a lot further from help. Or it may be dark. Some strong pain meds just might get you through the night. Not all docs are kind enough to prescribe them for your emergency kit. So take advantage when you can.

I am not going to take them pain pills until i feel pain... I know you guys think it is wrong but i guess we will see!!!

ok, you've done the experiment... against the advice of many, experienced voices here (who also did the experiment).

My dear old dad told me when I was young that I didn't actually have to experience everything, that somethings are best taken on the word of those that had...

...pain management policy has changed a lot (for the better) over the last couple of decades.
Sorry that you've figured out why, but now you're experienced, and can hopefully build on that if you ever have to go through it again.

And you can be one of the "voices of experience" in future posts... welcome to the world of hurt.

^^^^^^^ lol Ed!!

Some people just have to learn the hard way! Don't feel bad meat.. Done plenty of that myself too... But Ed's advice is great. Next time you run into something more serious, you'll know the deal...

Call your oral surgeon for advice. Pain can also be the sign of an infection. Probably no, but it doesn't hurt to check.

Hope you feel better soon. Id say the pain lasted about a week for me. Plain old fillings- that pain lasted me many months.
