you can never rule out the possibility that weather will be uncooperative. my experience is that you should take very opportunity you have for a great shot, those conditions may never recur....

nice shot altiboo!

a cold atmosphere is very good for "seeing" and being up 5000' helps too, warm and near the coast not so good.

and Chaz's images always amaze me...

good work all! it was fun for sure.

OK, OK, I turned up Hue & Saturation in Photoshop on my moon photo, so I too can post a colorful eclipse shot.

The original.

The angry Hue & Saturation moon.

Cool Photos!

I popped out at midnight last night but the clouds had blown in by then here in Seattle. Seemed a bit darker out is all...

Wow! Nice, sharp shot there, altieboo.

I was getting my shots from inside the corral, because that was a good dark place, so I had a goat chewing on my pant leg the whole time.

Awesome photos.
And thanks for including Spica and Mars. The cherries on the top of the cake.
It was a beautiful threesome from here at 2900 feet in the Santa Cruz mtns. Too bad all I have for a camera these days is my iPhone.
If you looked to the west, there were also the triplet of Castor, Pollux and Jupiter. They've been hanging out together for about a week. They'll be there again tonight.

Great shot Altieboo!

Clouds then fog here. The best I got was an hour before the moon was fully in the shadow.

We managed to get a few breaks in the clouds last night. I'm looking forward to next Oct for round two.

No eclipse, but the moon right now is pretty respectable in the beauty department.

Early a.m. today, 4-15, at 5:47, the moon was so bright shining in my french windows it actually woke me up. Love the beauty of our planet and even more, taking the time to enjoy it.

Cheers All, lynnie
