I am very pleased to announce that Lizzy Scully is going to join us!

She has done some really intriguing and difficult climbing in the company of other women and I look forward to hearing her stories and perspective.

So Steve, here's a thought....you had Bridwell at last years. Every time I p/up Jim to go road trippin' I tell Peggy(his wife) I'm gonna steal her away on the next trip and it's gonna be just she and me. How bout I steal her away and bring HER this year....bet she's got some GREAT " climber" stories. It would have us doubled over laughing fer sure.
Peace

I will let you know if that will work into the mix.

Bring her in any case as she would have a great time!

Mostly climbers of record so far but we shall see how it comes together.

I am very psyched to add Carla Firey to the speakers list!

Carla comes from a climbing family with her parents, Joan and Joe, very active in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Joan was also a member of the 1978 American Women's Himalayan Expedition.

Still adding lots of speakers and I am very pleased to announce that Janie Taylor-Levy will be joining us. Janie did some outstanding climbing in the Tetons with Royal back in the 1960s.

I have always wanted to meet Janie Taylor, ever since I first heard about her from Layton. I have a funny story in that regard too.

Geez Steve....you may need to have reserved auditorium- like seating...you know, like orchestra, general, box etc etc. Just know I'm reserving center, front row! This is gonna be one fun event. Estrogen Queens and Princesses.
This is going to be awesome...a lot of Dirt Barbies on Medicare! Works for me! I'm almost there!

Janie took the time to organize a wonderful reunion for the early Tahquitz climbers several years ago and so this Festival finds her now in return. She already had heard about it and was thinking how nice it would be to involved and remembered in this way and I contacted not long after that.

I would like to announce that my very close friend and wall partner Barb Eastman- Kimbrough is going to join us. Barb and Molly Higgins were the second rope of women up El Cap after Sibylle and Bev and first up the Nose among her many adventures.

Barb, Sibylle and Ellie are going to be one fantastic panel!

Barb Eastman, my mentor at Outward Bound whom I introduced to her first climb in the Valley. What a fantastic reunion this is going to be!

Is Molly Higgins coming also?

Molly can't make it this year, unfortunately.

Great story about getting Barb going, Jan. Thanks for doing so and yes this is going to be fun!

I didn't see Janet Wilts mentioned, she posts on STForum and certainly participated in climbing in SoCal and Yosemite (and other places too) both herself and as a member of her climbing family.

I have been trying to get in touch with her.

Do you recall her avatar here? I tried contacting her that way once before with no luck.

I attended last year and was impressed by the warm welcome from organisers and climbers alike. (I'm a Brit pensioner). It was a great event and I would love to come again this year. Regrettably the $1500 it would cost me is not "findable" this year. All the best to the organisers and to anyone who is thinking about going, don't think, book your travel now.

Colin- Thank you for the glowing review and I am very pleased and honored that you found the Oakdale Festival rewarding after traveling so far to take it in.

We will miss you at this years Festival and hope that you are able come next time around.

Are your companions Hanke and Ger considering making the trip this year for the all gal lineup? I certainly hope so and they can expect the same warm welcome as last year after traveling so far to join in the fun.

Best wishes to you, mate!

Steve, I was hoping to come this year but it turns out I will be 'shredding' (ha-ha-ha) the Dolomites instead.
Say hello to Ellie Hawkins for me, eh? That should give her a laugh.

Will do Reilly. Sorry that the limestone is calling...but you will have a blast either way.

I am very pleased to announce that our own Rockin'Gal Sally Moser and climber/photographer Beth Wald are planning on joining in the fun with more speakers yet to confirm.

While I was in Boulder Lynn Hill graciously made time for a brief interview to be used in her absence. It was really fun to get her perspective and I am sure that everyone will enjoy the result.

I am beyond stoked to announce that Mayan Smith-Gobat is planning on coming to join us! Mayan is one of the shining stars in modern traditional climbing and a powerful athlete so I look forward to meeting her and hearing about her exploits, past and planned.
