Donini is the "Clint Eastwood" of the climbing world .....W Braun.
Funny, but Jim always reminded me of Clint Eastwood, in more ways than one.
TWP's summation of why Jim is always stirring the pot is spot on. Jim just likes to get a rise out of people, with his dry humor.

Gross, Sharma saved me the trouble of doing La Dura Dura and GDavis saved me the trouble of doing Jeremy's mom. Good friends are hard to c#m by... always feels a little weird.

yep! I remember being like the title of this thread.
I've survived and learned a lot.
Wish I was had learned enough not to have decided to make that big business drive today-----520 miles from Choss Creek to Billings Mt.
At least I kept the shiny side up, and only have 3 new dings in my windshield.

Just repaired some windshield chips with a DIY kit. Worked well... looks better than the professional ones next to it.

it can be rationalized that we're not just older but "wiser", but the truth is plain: it's good to be young, less good to be old.

Love Anastasia's post. When you are on the literary jive you are awesome, Gal. Jennie's post was also great and I agree.
Braun, thanks for the Gran Torino memories. Loved that movie.
Lots of the rest is testosterone based imho. That's great, but you need to read it for what it is. Smiles, ll ll

Many of you are forgetting or never knew, Jim had a very curious period in the past. It's usually private and a well-kept family secret, but here now, generally told. When he took his vows, vows of chastity, poverty and obedience, and the fourth vow, to give "Wholehearted and Free service to the poorest of the poor" suddenly his life's work became clear. Here he is, in a quiet moment in Calcutta:
