The overnight cognescenti have had there say........ha, ha, Jennie rung the bell.
I also wanted to let Biotch get his usual licks in.

PS I have no doubt that i climb with more people under 30 than anyone else my age, keeps you young and in touch......well, to a certain extent anyway.

Jeez people. It's just a challenge to get off yer duff! Jim don't care if he comes off as gruff on the intertard. No way Peter he's gonna fit himself into your neat little mold. Eveyryone knows if you get out there all he wants to do is climb and he's happy as hell.

Just one advice for the young people. Keep a journal, take pictures, film, document everything you do.

Oh shit! You're right! I need to do this more!! ;)

A person feels invincible at 20. At 50 you think "How did I ever feel invincible? That must have been decades ago"

Jennie got it right.

Jim says things just to see what reaction he will get. Like Warbler's bigger cucumber episode. Jim's like the legendary turn-of-the-century politician, Speaker of the House Joe Cannon, who had a very foul mouth. When called onto the carpet about his bad language Cannon said, "I don't mean a God Damn thing by it."

Jim loves to pull legs, tell stretchers, and offer "offensive" comments just for the hell of it. He doesn't mean it; he just loves to say it. Like one time I talked about my love for golf and Jim piped in that the first time he picked up a club he hit a 5-iron 220 yards, shot an outrageously low score, etc. hum-in-a-hummina. I just called bullshit and laughed at him. He was just testing my gullibility. Show some spine and you'll do fine with Jim.

How you define young is relative to your age. I remember hearing about this old guy going through multiple partners in a day in Arapiles back in '84. I was hearing it from the local climbers in their 20's. It was John Fantini and at the time he was probably only 40!
John is similar to Jim in that he is still cranking at almost 70, redpointed a 5.12d on his 65th birthday.Seems to live on bananas alone.

Keep at it Jim and ignore the people that are young, dumb and scum.

I think society has taught us to feel sorry for old people as they are so frail and weak. I look at it differently. If you were in a crowd with some elderly people and you could see the ghosts of all the people that never make it to their age you would realize that these are the STRONG people, all the weak ones are long gone!

Here's another stereotype I hate. A young man with a sex drive is considered normal but when you become old your a dirty lecherous old man and yet the only thing that has changes is your external appearance not the entity that lives within.

Can't wait for your NIAD report, your so lucky that your body has served you so well after all these years, keep at it.

Exactly

He's like Clint Eastwood, especially the scene where he goes into the barber shop and they throw insults and talk "sh!t" at each other in "Gran Torino"

Funny sh!t

Donini is the "Clint Eastwood" of the climbing world .....

Wes offers nothing from his little Piggy Bank of experiences that is remotely worthy of envy. That is why he keeps trying so hard...
