His rambling writings were very thought-provoking, most Bukowskian stuff I've seen

Still miss Norwegian's presence around here. What a raw and singular energy/force he seemed to effortlessly conjur through his words. I wish you well!

HOORAY! WEEGE is BACK!!!
Missed you dude. Glad you got to enjoy break.
your prose in these pages strain
an aesthic, an expression of pain
flowers bloom from out of the gloom
and the day is brighter again

'aesthics' aren't very pretty
but neither is the weej--
dragged in by the cat after a long time,
burnt to a crisp in the sun,
soaked in spring rain,
looking like he got tossed from the car--
but still bursting with weejiosity
high five!

The Wild Norwegian
A few years back in Idaho
as I walked along
the rocky scree
under cloudy skies on a mountain flank
I happened across a bighorn herd
moving swiftly down the landscape
or they happened on me
then I should say
Staring down at wildflowers
I looked up to see them trotting by
not more than twenty yards away
Effortlessly they moved on by
like gentle waves upon the sea
And someone followed at a distance
in the misted gray
A man in many layered coats
appeared afar
as the wind picked up
I raised my arm to greet him
But he disappeared
on the distant mountainside
Out west in the Sierras
on Shadow Lake at dawn
I pulled another golden trout
from below the frigid algae murk
And there across the way
another angler looked east on morning clouds
the golden light of sunrise
reflecting off his ruddy cheeks
He looked familiar
as I thought to speak
He turned and climbed the other bank
and as I looked again his way
only silence stared back at me
I haven’t fished there for awhile now
A cacophonous din wracked hard
on my headache
My eyes bloodshot as I stared
The nightclub rang with laughter
as a crumpled soul stood quietly
then began his act
This poet in leu of a comic
met taunting words
and angry scowls
Then the raucous tribe
met face to face with this man’s tale
as words flowed out his face
onto the crowd
Taken aback the customers fell silent
until
It dawned on them
how the poets words
described in crude detail
the empty cold half dead remains
of an alcoholic’s life
Though I’d heard his work someplace before
Some pissed off drunks in that crowd
stymied his rhythm
and he was out the door
I took my dogs
down to the beach one day
near Carmet north of Bodega way
Ate my baguette with some gouda
and salami in the sun as
the crisp wind blew my face
My male dog ran ahead
as a stranger knelt to greet him
The surf and ocean spray
hit my feet and wet my sneakers
And my dog charged back to me
The man was gone and to this day
I would swear I thought I’d seen him
somewhere else before

many i've been sliding in and out of this place,
dodgy avatars; it's like i'd sign up
one night, drunkest eyes i've ever seen! and
strike up prose, but then the next
morning i could not remember my passwords
or email accounts or anything.
i've never had that happen with a chick,
like i wake up and go, what the f*#k happened?
but i've done supertopo so many times.
rode her hard and put away wet, so to speak.
i'm sorry, sweetie.
this time its for reel, g.
i won't flee. i'll lay next to thee,
until well after sunrise, then we'll go and get a crimson mary together,
or perhaps a mimosa.
we'll stay together forever. and i'll treat you right.
oh, cavemonkey, i travelled to AK this summer for the first time
and i now have a 10 year plan to permanently reside there.
i'm thinking chase. that place was bitchen. i'll sell my
strawberry cabin and buy one in semi-rural alaska.

Chuck may you:
Live well - to enjoy your dance on stone, your flight on boards, your climbing trees and your good health for a long life in our beautiful mountains with those you love.
Love much - to give back, to cherish your blessings, to care enough to take action in a never ending desire to make things better, to do good.
Let go - of things that take your positive energy, to forgive yourself and others for being human.
You’ve taught me more than you know.
Your buddy for life,
Charlie D.

thank you charlie.
though none of that is in my contract,
because you are my friend i will
consider each piece of your advice my personal duty.
i'm sweating about forgiveness, but the rest i think i can achieve.
now, per your instructions above, i'm off to madre sierra!
i lover more than she'll over know.
she's love us more than she'll ever show.

A Norwegian sighting yesterday in his natural habitat.....up high off the ground on the Western Slope:
I’m happy to report Dutch is doing well - working hard as usual, raising two teenage daughters with his wife and facing all the joys and challenges it all brings.
