I've searched this thread, gleaned some good background.
I don't have the same objections as many here.
When this forum started gaining energy, I saw that I could get in on a lot
of gossip, banter, real info and writing, and old estrangements being
rectified.
I also realized that I am not savvy enough to navigate a site like RC.com
for decent effect.

To change the subject:
some of you seem to think Farouk is being called out by Donini, but I see
that it's really the other way around.

What about Tick Rock, Jim? Huh?

Great to see you at that so-called City of Rocks, by the way.

Along the way I did have some fun on RC.com.

It deeply pains me to raise this topic, but I must. In this otherwise entirely gentle and gracious website I see evidence that persons of an older persuasion are sometimes mistreated based simply upon their age. To do so is illegal. It can also present other dangers at which one can only guess. The following ex[c]erpt from the NYT should be of interest:

GERMANY: PRISON FOR 'GRANDPA GANG' OF ROBBERS Three men aged 64, 73 and 74 and dubbed the "Grandpa Gang" drew prison terms of 9 to 12 years for robbing 14 banks of almost $1.25 million over 16 years, using automatic weapons, fake hand grenades and guns dating back to World War II. The three - Lothar Ackermann, Wilfried Ackermann, and Rudolf Richter, have lengthy prison records and said at their trial in Hagen that they needed the money for their retirement because they had not been able to save. The court also heard that the oldest man had a weak bladder and often asked the getaway driver for a comfort stop.
Kirsten Grieshaber (NYT)

I trust we shall have an end to the mistreatment of people on RC.com, whatever their persuasion.

What the f*#k does this story about three old guys hitting banks have to do with this website? And why did you post in Sport Climbing to begin with? I hate to say it, but I think you may be a moron.

That said, has anyone noticed all the ancients on this website that like to sit on top of their pyramids with their holier than thou attitudes? What's up with that? Their all like "When I started climbing, Moses was my belayer. But since rope wasn't even invented, he just sort of stood there and watched." I wish all those old f*#kers would just hurry up and die, and stop clogging up this websit.

Actually, Fatty was banned from RC a full day before you even typed this.

Not really.... D4DR are the DropZone folks who sold the site to NameMedia in the first place, so this really just takes the site ownership back to ~2009? Always thought it hokey that NameMedia handed control back to them when NameMedia was going to shutter the site years back (due to insufficient ad revenue), and strongly suspect there was a refund of purchase price involved. I also suspect that D4DR did not pay the $2million asking price (last I checked) that NameMedia had been asking for the site.

In any event, unless J_ung is put back in charge it's a non-story since he was the best thing that ever happened to the place. Little chance of that though, and they'll be left the redheaded stepchild of a skydiving site from here on out.

I thought it was also. The missing "e" on "websit" suggests it was written tongue in cheek.

I do love whimsy. ST could be a scream if people would just get into it.

The part about the bank robber who had to have time outs during a chase - my gosh you can just see the police car stopping three blocks back and waiting for the chase to resume. Buster Keaton.
