Sully, that's great! You were cute all along. Awesome pic!

And Daphne, I wish I could offer more than prayer for your Mom. She should be fine.

Another wave of prayers just went out!!!!

I love this thread and all the great pictures, but I reallylove how much support is available from this community. It isn't the first time I have observed it and it moves me every time. Thank you, all.

I spoke with my Mom a couple of hours ago. She is responding really well to the heavy antibiotic treatment and the doctors want to keep her in the hospital for another three days and then to a hotel to for another few days and then if she keeps on doing well, she can fly home! The encapsulation of the appendix needs to be solid before she can fly, and really healed before they can go in and take it out, probably a couple of months. Until then, it is like living with a ticking time bomb, apparently. She seemed in great spirits. She really appreciates the prayers and thanks you for them.

Good luck to your Mom, Daphne!

My Mom ( left ) doesn't appear to be having as much fun as my step-Dad and my Cousin were here ( they were laughing their asses off when I got the camera stuck in the tops of the trees, and I had to fly it out with the kite. They thought that was funny as hell. ), but she has done some real artistic stuff with the shot of the lighthouse I got that day:

Not everyone has a lovable beautiful mother... there are ~10 "I hate my mother groups on facebook" w/ a combined total of roughly 2000 ppl (that's not including the mother-in-law hating groups).

edit: {insert Mommie Deast Joan Crawford jokes}

That said, there are many people I love that are beautiful mothers : )

A great thread and a whole heck of a lot of great Moms!

Here is my Mom reading to my son (he's seven now):

And here she is with him taking a nature walk in her New England back yard:

I wouldn't be a sixteenth of the person I am without her. One of the kindest, most compassionate and supportive persons you'll ever run into. You don't even need to be her child to get this either... she's passing it out left and right all over the place!

Fletcher, you just describe my Mom^^. ..Do you have any younger pictures of your Mom..I swear, she looks just like a girlfriend of mine.

Reddirt, if you were in California, i'd let you borrow my Mom... She would love you and spoil you like one of her own kids..

Hey Nita, that's great to hear about your Mom! I have a feeling we're not alone, though in that respect!

I don't have any old photos of her handy. There are some great one's I wanted to put up, but we just moved and who knows where anything is at this point!

Sully, my wife is kinda shy around this gang, I doubt I could get her to post. Maybe later.

Love seeing everyone's family! Here's my mom, in Boulder last year. Now, if we could only figure out how to take away her car keys....
