How much time do you guys spend on all this?

Raj, why am I not surprised that you are a Bushite.

Welcome to the forum John, I haven't seen you or mike since 1978, I never climbed with you guys but I have bouldered with you. Actually, of the people on this forum that I have met before, I haven't seen any of them since the late 1970s, though I talked with Ronnie Kauk (but he doesn't post here) in Lee Vining Canyon ice climbing back in 1985.

As mungeclimber said, there is a lot of bull on this site, could be me.

Welcome John!

Don't want this to sound like hero worship or anything ... I just have a great respect for everything you've accomplished.

I've never met you, but the month/year I started climbing ('86), the first climbing mag I bought had your interview in it. Being an impressionable young man, looking at those pics and reading the interview/article ended up defining what climbing was (and still is) to me (the mag is carefully nestled in my bookcase to this day). I greatly respect your accomplishments (at least what I understand them to be). I still have my favorite climbing picture, of Shultz on the Bachar Yerian from an early Grammicci/Sole Survivor calendar, hanging on my wall at home (much to my wife's chagrin). It as well as your legacy of accomplishments continues to provide motivation for me to get out on the rock regularly.

Thank you for showing me and the world the possibilities!

Hope to meet you someday and get your autograph.

Anyway, enough sappiness...

Enjoy!

burp (Mike)

P.S. Michael Reardon's film spotlighting you is something deserved and long overdue. I look forward to viewing the film!

Hi John,
like the two Mikes's posts above, I never met you, but you were one of my heroes back when I started climbing in the 1979. First time I saw you in person was in the mid-eighties at TM. you were soloing the left Watercrack on Lembert.

What in the name of Iraq is going on here? I never got so much as a "Nice to see you Mr. President" when I joined this forum. And then this Bachar guy joins, makes a couple of posts defending a friend, and people treat him like God? If it is Bachar, I am having my doubts. Hey, Mr. Bachar, post the last four digits of your phone number if it is really you. If you don't then I will get the IRS on your back.

This one will dispel all doubts if this really is John.

Tell me John, the name of the cameraman in the gillette commercial we did back in the day.

And what did he give me after the shoot was over.

I know Russ Knows ....... so don't tell.

Well, that about sums it up - we're so low brow we need Bachar-Braun ciphers to prevent creeping credtheft from turning us all into just another faceless John. Welcome - do keep your snorkel handy...

Hmmm...Has a nice ring to it for a route (rout) name.

Bachar-Braun

You could even call it;)

Werner, I know it too, as I was one of the riggers setting up Bachar and the cameramen for the shots. Remember the time we set up Separate Reality, the light was good and everything was set--then Union lunchtime required the full buffet on the road and by the time it was over we lost the light?

THen of course there was the three day El Cap swing rig that resulted in about a 1.5 second shot for the commercial.

Werner, read from the beginning to answer that question :-)

For a little controversy, Russ Walling = Bachar and he can be reached at john@acopa.comon

GWB, that’s what you’d call a preemptive strike since Werner set up who else knows his question (besides deuce4)

Mike (Gramicci)

I've read the whole thread from begining to end and it still doesn't confirm if it's John B. WTF there's been so many imposters and posers here that you never really know who the fu-ck is who.

Thus who the fu-ck is bachar in this thread? Russ? impostering? or is it the real deal?

I find it hard to believe it's John.

Geeeez… Werner, for someone that doesn’t drink you’re a little testy here.

The first two posts confirm that the imposter does have another boot line, that’s all.

Who asked you rammy.

By the way rammy, you say you've climbed for x amount of years? Tell us WTF you've actually climbed in climbing area in the US. I'm really curious as if you actually do (climb) or are you just a lying poser?

Is that you Werner? Yeah it's me bro. Caleb Deschanel (sp?) remember? Anyway I can't believe you're into this chat room stuff! I can barely keep up with this stuff. Who else is into this madness that I know? Chatting's cool but we should all get together and go free soloing and sh#t! Maybe Josh or something... We'll all try to keep up with Reardon - we can take turns and switch off between solos - he'd probably be cool with that. Maybe he'll do some easy sh#t so we can have a chance. Is Deucy on here too? Russ? I'm outta here for now, Don't drink too mch guys. Peace, jb

Werner, is it still raining up there?

I told you to get out of Dodge (Yosemite) and come down and visit me in another post. With no reply?... Its mellow down here, no rain some pretty good sandstone crags. You can unwind a little, I’ll drink beer :-)
