Mr. bush, I just thought you should know that today I rode my bicycle to protest your lust for oil and money. That's right, I didn't use a single drop of oil to go where I wanted. And when I got home I listened to some Ice Cube, because I know how much you love his musical musings. Peace, sucka!

Were you riding on asphalt or concrete at any point? I doubt it was poured using a donkey cart? Was the bike you were riding on shipped by mule train to the store you bought it at. I suspect you in fact used quite a bit more than a single drop. That said, you used a lot less than most. Good for you.

Would have used less energy if he went home and played his guitar. And less still if he had not posted his achievement.
Horses versus bicycles. Never saw comparison there. Do horses use more energy over their lifetime than constructing bicycle? But congrat's.

Do we want a public policy requiring people to ride bikes everywhere? Rain or shine. Is that what the Bush reference is all about?

Rest assured, anyone who voted for Kerry is on that list.

I think I am already on that list. I went for a hike too! Thought I'd see some of the wilds before they were drilled for oil that will go to other countries.

Nah, we need it all for ourselves.

Question: should we keep burning oil like there's no tomorrow, or quit chicken littling and start building modern nuclear reactors, give tax breaks for solar, wind generators and hybrid cars?

All sarcasm aside, it's good you rode your bike. Do it more and maybe you'll sweeten up and quit blaming others for your misfortunes.

I don't recall blaming anybody else for my misfortunes. For instance, I never said, "dear mr bush, today I did an endo on my bike and it's all your fault because you let your buddies at Haliburton have the contracts to rebuild Iraq". I merely said I rode to protest Bush's decisions.

I followed a horse up a road yesterday. Riding through fresh horse crap on my road bike is not very fun.

This whole "war for oil" bit coming from the socialists is starting to annoy me. If we'd gone to war for the oil, don't you think the price of gas would be lower? And would not that have happened before the election?

The problem that average Americans have with you people is that you stick to the same lines, regardless of how retarded they sound when proven to be not true.

You mean, for example, lines convincing the American public that Saddam had a role in 9/11?

The war is not for oil, it's for money. If you truly believe it's not, then what is it for? Certainly not to free the people of Iraq. The US government does not care about them. After all if not for the government the taliban would have had a much harder time coming into power. Where do you think they got a lot of their funding and training?

I'm sure W had multiple reasons for going to war.

A. Continue the flow of mideast oil to keep the US economy going. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Anyone who denies that is a self-deluded sheep.

B. Have a new place for military bases in the mideast.

C. Lot's of people saying he had WMD so it looked like he had them, and Saddam himself being so stubborn about allowing inspectors in he ended up getting himself regime changed. What a putz. (Personally I don't believe in pre-emptive strikes I think that's dishonorable and unjust and in the end they had no WMDs so we went on the offensive against another nation and the reputation of our country has suffered for it.)

D. Nice fat contracts for military and oil services firms owned by guess who.

E. Opportunity to establish a demorcarcy in Iraq and set an example for other nations, showing that although democracy is tainted by big money it's still the best system (only working system) we've got.

F. Prove he could get it done and show up daddy. :-)

Was it worth $200+ Billion dollars (so a few grand for each of our families, plus interest since the budget is so out of balance), 1500+ American Soldiers, 100,000 Iraqi civilians, ruined reputation? Personaly I would've rather invested in Nuclear and renewable energy. I also think the lack of respect for historic sites like Babylon and the lack of respect for civil rights is appalling (terrorists don't deserve civil rights but innocent people do and in America we believe in innocent until proven guilty right?).

We all have our opinions (hopefully you don't just go along with whatever either side of the media you listen to is telling you and think it out for yourself). I'm so sick of either side saying the other side is out to destroy America. We're all trying to do what we think is good and right but this current atmosphere of us vs them in America has blinded us to the failures of extreme views of either side of thinking. Wake up sheeple think for yourselves. Oh yeah and climb, once it stops raining.

the Fet, I agree with a lot of what you say. I don't think either side is trying to destroy America. On the contrary, I think they mean to expand it so they will continue to have a working class to manipulate and extort. If they, and by 'they' I mean all sides not just one, destroy America they will have only themselves to feed off of. And then what will happen? Read 'Atlas Shrugged'.

dear mr. bush-

how convenient for you that in the 1st year of your 1st term, a huge terrorist attack against our country (some would say your administration had ample warning that such an attack was eminent and did nothing but give speeches on hopelessly flawed star wars technologies) helped to bring you out of all time low pollling #s for popularity and job performance.

it is rather curious that you and your neocon advisors chose to leave undone the most obvious and significant job, that of catching the responsible terrorist and fully addressing the realities inside afganistan, those that bred his organization and provided them with opportunities and resources with which to attack us. instead of completing that task, you diverted your attention and eventually your intelligence capacity and military firepower toward your unprecidented preemptive war in iraq, the country with the 2nd largest oil reserves in the world.

at the time you claimed that military force was a last resort, and that your stated goal was to disarm sadam hussein of his WMDs. in 2002 you went to congress and asked for their authorization to act because you claimed it was necessary to have any hope for a diplomatic solution.

after several hundreds of billions of US taxpayer dollars have been spent, after over 1,600 brave american soldiers have been killed and over 10,000 wounded, after the threat of iraqi WMDs has been proven to be a complete farce (and one of dubious orgins), we now learn that you and your administration had determined that you would invade iraq even before you went to congress, and that any mention of a diplomatic or peaceful solution to this conflict was as much an illusion as the very threat of WMDs that your administration used to sell the american public on your personal war.

after partying your way through the viet nam conflict in a son-of-a-rich-man's-super-cush-spot in the texas air national guard (another assignment that you didn't manage to complete), what do you have to say to the parents, the children, the spouses, the siblings, and the friends of the many brave americans whose lives have been lost in this war (the untold death toll of non-americans notwithstanding), now that the world has learned that your administration had sought the agreement of the british government to participate in the war long before you even went to congress or pretended to seek a peaceful diplomatic solution (in retrospect, it's not as if iraq could disarm, given that they never had the WMDs in the 1st place!)...

...and specifically, how do you explain (to the families of off all those dead and wounded american soldiers) the revelation that "the facts were being fixed around the policy"...?

"this war is about fixing America's perception of himself after Kennedy and Johnson screwed up Vietnam."

Didn't find WMDs, didn't find Bin laden, didn't secure the country, didn't set up a working democracy despite killing the previous government and raped, murdered, tortured and abused the iraqi people in full view of the world at large.

Wow, you must feel really good about yourselves now.
