Special place in hell for these guys, it was all captured on a camera monitoring the den
A father and son are accused of slaughtering a female black bear and her two cubs as they rested in their den in April.
Andrew Renner, 41, and Owen Renner, 18, of Palmer, Alaska face several felony and misdemeanor charges related to illegal hunting. It is against the law to shoot a black bear with cubs in Alaska.
Alaska Wildlife Troopers, which announced the charges on Monday, said the act was caught on a motion-activated camera set up inside the den to monitor the bears as part of a study being conducted by the US Forest Service and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. The camera produced both video and audio of the encounter.
"In this case numerous crimes, including felonies, are believed to have been committed," trooper Col. Steve Smith said. Smith said the truck and boat used to transport the Renners to and from the bears' den have been seized.
The father and son were out skiing together on April 14 when they approached the inhabited den, troopers said in a statement.

"They'll never be able to link it to us," Owen Renner said, according to the court documents.
Two days later, the men were captured on video returning to the den to pick up shells casings and dispose of the bear cubs, troopers said.

Wonder exactly what their motive was, other than they're just malicious A-holes.
Doesn't seem all that different to me than how some trophy hunting is done, where you pay big bucks for someone to pen or tie up the animal and you get to "hunt" it.

Yep... if a "truck and boat" were used to access the den it sure doesn't seem like he could even claim the bears had been a nuisance or danger....
Good to see dirtbags get caught from time to time. This time a dirtbag AND his offspring.

They should get 5 years hard, no parole.
Confiscation of vehicles and weapons like druggies.
Never allowed to own weapons or get a hunting license.
$100,000 fine
And sterilization.

The other thing I find troubling about this story is that this stupid a$$ father got his 18 yr. old son involved in this sad affair. The son could be a real chip off the a-hole block, or he could be one of those poor kids (and we all know at least one) who was failed by his parents and never shown the right way. 18 yrs. old and looking at felony charges because of his POS dad. Sad all around.
