Haha...hey man, how's life? Good to see that you, and Dingus and BrianinSLC and hell, even Batten are here. Warms my heart to see the old rec.climbers are alive and kicking. Is Slime, Brutus, Amanda etc. on here too?
Me? I used to be hard. Now I'm a quaking has-been, saddled with a couple kids (the youngest is almost 1) and little time to climb. Though my daughter is expressing interest, so I'll probably shuffle my lard ass back onto the rock soon.
I see there's some poster named "madbolter1" on here. WTF? Haha. Ah well, maybe it's time to change my name. I've not placed a bolt in effin' YEARS!
Brent Ware and I still hang out. Bastard keeps taking my poker money. He even suckered me into helping him build a fence over the 4th of July weekend in 100 degree temps. I hate him, I just love his dog. :D

Wow - I was wondering what happened to you. Those were some good times on rec.climbing, eh?
BTW, I went ahead and glued the fuçk out of that loose hold we were discussing...
Dingus said it was OK.

Met Amanda this past weekend in J-Tree with her fiance Dave. Guess she recognized the Steel Monkey and wife Felicia.
Howdy all!

Peeper....is that you?
Them sad old dinosaurs are still over on rec.climbing marking the middle of n00bs ropes and arguing about the car to car time on the 3rd Fat-Iron..... official time of death, July 18, 2001, 3:42 pm
(at least they argue about climbing.... it's different here, and not for the better)

Hey Russ! How's Bishop these days? Did the cops ever find the body of that British Gimp out in the Happies?
DMT you old coot. Great to hear Brutus and Em are still out and about. Your post made me laugh. I really should do something about bigwall.com, but more than likely it'll just go lights out one day. Haha. Then you'll be inundated with newbie forum topics about Space Shot and Moonlight Buttress beta. And I could just sit back and watch the fun. LOL
And wreckdot...I don't even remember how to fire up my newsreader anymore.
But I did rap bolt Double Cross last week. :)

Had to leave Bishop like 3 years ago. Got forced out by Trustafarian yuppies that snapped up all the million dollar houses just before I won lotto. damn.....
Out on the sand now in the JT area..... The new Bohemia as the LA Times calls it.
Not bad for sand....

Fish...so you're snapping up the scrub brush like Wally Barker huh? I think he owns half of the county now. New Bohemia. Ha. I guess that sounds better than Dirtbagville.

Hi Rex
I lurk through the overlong hours of my workday. Not a lot to post about right now other than the occasional feeble tale of some 5.7 shakefest.
Congrats on your little ones! I went thru a few life phases like marrying then getting divorced from a non-climber that I had nothing in common with, and then quitting the nicotine patches right when my desk job got horrendously busy and stressful. If I still was out trying to climb walls I'd do a much better job hauling with all the extra counterweight stored on my butt right now after all that.
I climbed quite a bit with Sue Hopkins before she blew her ACL. I miss that *sniff*
It was nice to see Greg and Felicia and meet Russ and Susan this weekend. Lucky that Felicia isn't a very common name or it probably wouldn't have rung a bell and I'd have been sitting there wondering if it would be best to leave quickly before that loud guy in the swami caused an accident.

Hey Rex:
Oh my GOD! You popped out another one??? What gives man? Been meaning to give you a call. Yeah, Wally does indeed pretty much own half the universe. Just wait till you see the next project I'm working on with him.
Sounds like you guys are good. Hilde is doing great and working at Nomad now (gear deals!). Unlike you, I'm climbing tons with Tucker and a handful of other losers.
Drop me a line if you are ever in town, I have the coolest digs in around.

Wow, Tim Stich, Amanda, Robert Fonda and Aya (yeah I remember you too). The wreckdotters are coming out of the woodwork. Haha. Kinda like a cyberspace reunion!
Kuan...you wouldn't happen to be the Kuan I used to boulder with at Stoney Point would ya? Like late 80's early 90's?
Robert, I need your phone number. Send it to me rex[at]bigwalldotcom still works.

There is another climber out there named Kuan, but I think he's a guy. I'm not.
And I've only been climbing for 3 years so that was definitely another Kuan.

I lead my first trad route EVER last weekend!!!
It was a 5.6 - nothing to write a TR about. Plus I could spend a long time counting ALL of the wrong-yet-nonlethal decisions that I made.
But I'm all stoked about buying gear now, and leading more!

Stich, it was probably only for about a year or two, maybe 1999-2000 or so.
I didn't contribute much that was useful because I was only just learning to lead on gear.
I recall only two specific discussions I participated in, though I know I posted in many more: one about painting/stickering helmets (I remember Chris Harmston saying he'd send me some BD approved stickers for my at-the-time-brand-new Half Dome helmet) and one about the new ice tools I'd picked up for some ridiculously low price like

Yeah, wreck.climbers...
I climbed quite a bit with Sue Hopkins...
Ate dinner with her and Craig (and Julie H) in San Diego back in August. My bet is she's ready to climb again (!).
Then, totally random, I run into none other than Inez in the Dolomites a couple weeks ago. Small world.
Rex, I get on wreck from google groups. Easy.
Cheers,
-Brian in SLC
