that beta on 'boot flake' !!! i have always tried to attain the 'boot' via the two super crimpy holds and bad feet down low and with a big lunge. I wonder if that off-to-the-right hold in the first photo in that sequence will unlock it for me. <3 stoney

Stoney Point History

The Chatsworth Rocks in the Santa Susana Pass provide a dramatic frame for Southern Pacific's "Lark," train no. 76, as it emerges from tunnel 27 heading into Los Angeles in January 1948. No. 4428 is a GS-3 type built in 1937, the first GS class with 80-inch drivers, and built to operate with a maximum speed of 106 mph.

This is just a FYI.... It rained really hard for about 2 hours in Chatsworth today....

Please stay off of the wet sandstone.

Jonny Dry Bong... has been busy talking to folks who take pads down there...
and along that line.... The big ledge/shelf you go for when doing Hoof n Mouth ..... is now flexing some and has a crack running along the top where it joins. This historic problem is in real danger of crashing off.

That would be sad.

Mark Powell told me a story......

He and Kamps, both being teachers, would go on summer road trips together.

Mark said that Kamps had the infuriating habit of pulling off of the road and driving off into the distant landscape just because he saw some big boulders over "that a way".

The Father of Bouldering?

Chris Owen just received his latest printing of the guidebook (no updates) today. It should be back in stock in the store where it once was scarce.

I was doing a few laps on the bolt ladder yesterday morning, getting used to my Silent Partner when the fire department showed up along with their helicopter. I'm too lazy to call and track down to find out what happened. Does anyone know what was going on? It looked like it was back near A-Frame or around that area.
