HK, I was copying the link to the image on imageshack. Maybe we should to both the link to supertopo for the post and to the image? I can't really write a script that would get the image through supertopo. NEeds to be a direct link.

Sure... go ahead and start from the beginning. If we get three or four OCD people working on this we can hammer through 7500 links by tomorrow :-)

Copied to this thread from the original post by Allie about Ouch moving on.

With the 50th Nose event coming up, maybe some talented folks could get all of Ouch's images together plus what Allie has shared with us about her dad, print em up into a book via the Interweb, sell them at the Nose show in The Valley and donate the proceeds to an Ouch approved cause.

Or something along those lines.

Maybe offer said books for sale at Sushifests.

His art is priceless. And while much of it is animated, even the stills arranged in storyboard fashion would bust a gut. Perhaps they are humorous only to the denizens of this deep and twisted TacoStand. So what.

Ouch abides.

Is Allie able to access Ouch!'s imageshack account? That would be the fastest way to get the images.

I don't think so. I asked Ouch! about it and he offered to give me access but somehow that never worked out.

I agree it would be fastest.

You guys rock. I would offer to help, but my computer is so slow and my skills so none existent that I think I would be more of a hinderance then a help. Thanks nature and Hardman and Blue and who ever else volunteers to help. This will be so cool.

Ouch used Imageshack, but he also used Photobucket if I remember correctly.
So far, his earliest images are dead links. Here's a typical one:

http://solisstyle.com/ims/pic.php?u=4171Il1Ab&i=28625

He started posting here in late January '05, and his very first cartoons were of Crimpy's thumbs.
Those are all unavailable because those links are dead. Another thing is that sites like
Imageshack require that the links are clicked at least once a year to remain active.

Here's another example:

From Allie,

Ok...everyone help me out here. I think I found them all. going back to 2000 in something called Picasa. I figured out how to email the folders and need an email address to mail them to. Wow...I think I have what you need. I have to take a break from this and take my daughters to the Halloween store before it closes and then will be back here to see what you think. It was my bribe to them to stay here one more night to try and get all of this to you guys... : ) What can I say...they are teenagers after all... hehe.

I also found one cartoon he was working on in Photobucket that I am not sure if went out anywhere or not but looks complete. It may be the last one he had done. That is sort of sad if that is the case it would be a very good one to have...

I looked in ImageShack and there is nothing there because it appears when he completed them he moved them to this Picasa place.

Bear with me...I'm trying to get it together to do this and got so excited when I found these that I can barely type.

Let me know...he has them seperated into folders that are named under each year. There are hundreds and hundreds of them...

Back shortly...~Allie

Oh my goodness!!!

Here's what you'd need to do, Allie.

You'll need to take the entire directory structure (the upper most folder that contains the year folders and zip it). It'll convert the folders into a zip file which you can then most likely email. You have my email address and my account has no size restrictions so there shouldn't be a problem there.

Wow! this is exciting. It's a lot o' lot of work to get these one at a time. This would save us a ridiculous amount of time.

I'm running out now to watch the game but will be back later.

Edit: Oh, I just realized you said back to 2000. As Hardman KNOTT pointed out above he started posting here in '05. Maybe you should take a look at some of the 2005 stuff and see if it looks like the climbing gang. Then go through the stuff before that and see what that's all about. I'd hate to dig into personal stuff but maybe it's just more of his genius.

Having the latest one would be very cool too. I wonder what it is :-). Maybe you can email me that one and I'll post it here on the forum.
There's a lot of tech-savy folks on this forum so if you need help just say the word.

Allie, our email addresses are in our files. You find that by clicking on our names to the left of our posts. Send them to nature. In case you don't understand what I wrote, go here for natures address.

Thank you for doing this. We love Ouch and miss him already.

One thing, some of us do not use these email addresses regularly, so it helps if you give a heads up to whomever you are emailing so they will check that address, plus the address may be old. Nature will see this eventually and let you know if this is a current address for him.

Edit: oops, nature was posting as I did.

I agree locker. But logistically it might be a little tough. IF nothing else maybe we can get chris to add a link to wherever we archive it.

And keep in mind the real trouble we have right now is his stuff is on photobucket or imageshack and could disappear at any time. Though as Allie posted above she might have all of it.

From Allie,

I cannot make the zip file work via Picasa...anyone have any thoughts? I can email each folder but that will take some time. Other thing is to create a web album and make it visible to whoever I want to? I will start emailing these folders to you one at a time shortly Nature.... : ) I am not sure what else to do....

Allie,

I can put them on YCA's new website, as I am sure Chris will do on this site, if you and your family are willing. He was definitely the most interesting and creative poster on this site.

Yeah, TIG, I really liked that one, sure I'm biased, but I thought he was calling us all on being too self important with that offering. If we can't laugh at ourselves...

It was always an honor to have Ouch, Ouchify one of your photos.

Here are some before, and after Ouch got a hold of them.

and here is one Ouch did of a photo that Blackbird took where he mixed all our faces up.

He sure knew how to make a good photo BETTER!!!!
