I remember in one of Tom's El Cap reports earlier this week that he went up there and wasn't feeling it so he decided to meadow-sesh it for a couple days then try it.

Cheers to everyone out there expanding their limits, and floating above. Please correct my memory, but didn't one of the Hubers need to learn new styles of climbing before freeing longer routes in Yosemite? I remember someone crediting him for an apparent lack of ego when climbing routes far below grades he previously established. It was a crisp morning with scattered high clouds here yesterday. I imagine that it is beautiful in the Valley, even if the weather isn't conducive to free climbing.

Hey ya'll. Yes he bailed, and now he's back in SC for my wedding today. So you can quit looking for him. He's still interested in going back and freeing the nose, but he wants to do the logistics different. Also, he fell once on the Dolt Hole pitch (before sending), so no more onsight.

Sharma certainly climbed the first 4 pitches strongly and effectively. We let him climb past us and he fired it up. As anyone knows who has done those pitches, they are sketchy and the pro placements are devious and hard free climbing if you are not french freeing, especially that traverse at the top of the fourth pitch, 11c, yeah right. Sharma is a class act, and his belayer was a super cool funny guy as well, we couldn't stop laughing! I was impressed with both of them. I have a feeling that Chris probably turned back due to the sheer volumne of parties on the Nose, as man was it crowded.

His partners were Sterling Keene and Andy Puhvel. Both great guys. When can I claim my Mai Thai?

From a young age, the thing that set Chris apart from us mortals, according to those that knew him then, was his complete lack of fear. So I doubt the stove legs intimidated him.

Wait a minute...might have to call BS on this one. I saw Sharma TWICE this week at Pacific Edge here in SC. I find it hard to believe he commuted to the Valley and BACK in those few days.

edit: never mind...read the other posts...i'm dumb
