Looks like there's a bunch of lucky kids on this thread and great parents spending quality time with them...Here's my little "grub", she'll be 5 mos. in a couple of days. She came into the world weighing a delicate 10lbs. 11 oz...Mom came through .with flying colors, btw. Cheers to kids!

What a great post. Good to see all the Dad's and Mom's out there with their kids. Thanks for the post Nita about being a new dad. It has been a great and sleepless six weeks since my baby boy Cooper was born, and I would not trade it for anything. i will try and post a picture up soon once I figure out how to do it. Maybe someone could tell me how? And it is truly awesome when they wrap their little fingers around yours, especially when someone else comments on his grip strength! Luckily I am getting out tomorrow for the first time since he was born-going bouldering can't wait til little Cooper comes with me.
take care-
Dave

You guys are bringing tears to my eyes with every post!
Lugar, your kids' mom is a trouper ( 10 lbs! yikes!)an emerging seven pound squirmo looked worse that the Harding slot, to me!
goodwin, sleep is over rated, the first time (I think) I ever completed the long traverse @the Bolus, Camelback, Phx, was after seven days without sleep as a new dad, Natalie's first week. I was lite as a feather. I know you've already figured this out...

Jaybro,
I gotta admit I'm also getting a tad red eyed reading this thread. So much love, parental pride, and joy in this thread. I hope we equip our kids with the guts and values to improve this world. I think we are off to a good start. My two boogers have taught me more than I have ever taught them. How did that happen?
My elder daughter is in college trying to get the skills to be able to practice medicine in Africa. Blows me away. About a 5.13b on the YDS. Don't know if it will happen, but I cherish the drive and goal. Humbles me, actually.

Great thread!
Mark H: Your daughter is adorable! Isn’t Angel’s landing a cool hike? It’s an alpine experience for the masses…sorta like the e-ticket ride of family alpinism!
The most profound experience I've ever had was witnessing the birth of my son Jon. The joy of being a dad in my life is unparrelled. Here’s a couple of my son, Jon, when he was a baby:
Several years later we took a father-son road trip to Death Valley. He brought along a skateboard deck to flop around on in the parking lot. I took him to Ubahebe Crater for a downhill run and he decided to bring his deck and have a stab at a new sport, “Crater Surfing.” We had so much fun on the decent, we couldn’t stop grinning ear-to-ear until we surfaced again to the parking lot… only to be met by a ranger who quickly explained that our new-found sport wasn’t looked on with open arms by the park service. He was pretty cool though, just warned us not to do it again then we swapped skating stories for a half-hour.
Crater Surfing
Here’s what he looks like now, at 21:
The whole experience of raising kids is tops on my list! Now I’m starting all over again with grand kids. It’s awesome and God is good!

Nice family website Mark. Boy, the focused look on your daughter's face (on your home page where she's just kicked the ball)...The apple don't fall too far from the tree, huh?

Her is my youngest looking rather narly after a big storm at BurningManHere is my oldest daughter, conceived on a climbing trip to JTree and she learned to walk in JTree at 10 months. Probably not many folks from the Great White North can say that.

From day one I have always said the two best things I have done in my life were to get married (okay... twice) and to have children. I have five children 14-27 and now a six-month old grandchild. I would NEVER trade a SINGLE second with any of them for anything.
I could post a thousand pics but the spray would be too audible. I'll post one for now until I find a suitable one of each child.
Here is my youngest--on the left, and yes, she is a model. And yes, she will be at Facelift so all you young climbers just back off!

Thx. Mark (nice website and pics, great looking family, looks like you have fun!) and thx. Jaybro, yeah, I couldn't believe it myself when Eleanor came out...she just kept coming and coming and coming! My wife, Julia, is 6'1", so I guess there was plenty of room to grow! I've enjoyed the pics of you and your daughter as well. She's very beautiful, I hope someday I get a summit photo of her and I on Devil's Tower, if not, that's ok too! Great thread, thx. Hobo and et al for the great pics!
