Tica finds a way to keep herself amused while I catch up to her on trail.

Work is for fools
But climbing is fun
Fussing 'bout Werner
Can make you go numb
Gonna get me some dog lovin' out in the sun

Politics blows
Makes me troll like a fool
I'd rather be picking up
Puppy dog's stool
Gonna get me some dog love 'cuz that's what is cool

Don't know 'bout hereafter
But far as I can tell
Some things people do
Can be worser than hell
But love from a dog can make some people well

Climbers and folks
Watching dogs giving birth
Caring and helping
For all that their worth
Dogs and dog lovers are the salt of the earth

Ward I'm not debating anything with you. it's not a "debate". I was offering my professional opinion, and I'm glad that bushman took it and his dog is getting the help he wants it to get. as for "regulars" in this thread? c'mon duuuude... I have photos of my dogs on literally the second page of this thread. i'm too old these days to have any patience for internet nonsense. grow up.

oh gosh I actually just read what I'd posted back in 2007... Rockstar was only 3 or 4 then??!?!?! he's 12 now, an old man.... just tore his second cruciate last week and I'm pretty sure his meniscus three days ago jumping off the porch, and I've been debating another knee surgery.... but after consulting with my orthopedist (because I can't be clearheaded about my own dog), we're going for it. Stella did the same at his age (12) and I didn't do surgery, but her happiest things were to eat and be with me... so it didn't matter. Rockstar loves getting out and exploring... he can't do that with his bum knee. So f*#k it, I just put the money I had for my root canals and crowns towards parathyroid surgery for him two months ago, and now I'm going to put vacation money towards his knee surgery, He's worth it.

that's the "old man" these days. He honestly hasn't been the same since "his" owner Joe died four years ago. But he's adapted to CO life and making the best of it. I'm thankful to have him every day.

I am.... and I do get a discount, a bit... but 10 or 20% off several thousand dollars still leaves me with... several thousand dollars :)

Not to play schoolmarm but....

There has rarely, if ever, been a cross tone or word used here.
Let's keep it that way, mmmkay? :-)

Dogs love bouldering.
Walk nap walk nap walk nap walk nap

So let's let sleeping dogs lie.

Best of luck with your dog bushman.

hey there say... oh my, funny dog hats, :))

here is patty ann marie--not a REAL hat,
but it ended up that way, from the way the photo was,
and then--i enhanced just a TAD near her head, to
REALLY make it 'set in':

but this one, of course, is the ol' antler trick:

:)

what i REALLY NEED TO DO is, get her night-cap, :)

Bi-eyed Bella with flash. Back in 2002. She was a great dog.

I always wondered if the differences in the way the retinas in the blue and brown eyes reflect the flash indicate there is a difference in the way each of the eyes detects and transmits color information to the brain. How would you ever find out?

Penny will be 14 at the end of June; she's deaf as a stump (when it's convenient), belligerent, shakes like Katherine Hepburn, and doesn't venture too far from the house. Still, throwing cubes of leftover grilled cheese sammich all about the yard managed to get her motivated for a grand treasure hunt!

The Happiest Dog I've Known

The happiest dog I've known
Sleeps upon his back
He doesn't need a bone
Loving is his snack

He's not much good at fetch
Or barking for his food
And never will play catch
But he's a happy dude

As calm as gentle seas
He gets right in his bed
And moans in ecstasy
When kissed upon the head

He follows me around
And stares out at the skies
But rarely makes a sound
Just let's out happy sighs

When wrestling we go
And wallowing on the floor
He's such a happy bo'
And never asks for more

Sister Emma's a goofy hog
And as opposite as can be
Unlike 'Sir Luke the Dog'
Whose love's sweet as honey
