ekat. It really sucked. She was tearing at her more forward stitches with her hind feet and chewing/licking the other. She was bleeding all over the place. The cone seemed to calm her down, an by about 3 hours the sedative kicked in (thank god). I just stayed next to her and pet her/kept her warm for the rest of the day and nite. She didn't get out of bed till the next day.

Ding, the boy and I are petitioning the boss (mom) right now. My wife's mother is prolly in the market for an addition to her clan. They lost their old Chihuahua recently and only have 3 dogs left.

Yes, she's a dog person.

skcreidc,

How do you keep a German Shorthair still long enough to heal? Every one I've ever known get would rather miss a meal and get a bath than spend a few days laying around.

She had mast tumors. Type 2 apparently. She's 7.5 years old and we have cancer. Prognosis is good for now though.

How do you keep a gsp from running at least 10 miles a day? I'll let you know when I figure that out. The sedative helps for about 4 days. Basically someone has to watch her 24/7 till the stitches come out. A full time job.

Brandon, yep. I still feel it in my inner thigh muscles and the left ankle/knee are pretty mad at me, but I got out and made it up the Kissing Couple in tennis shoes two days ago (following the hard pitches)...I am at best a mediocre climber, but I can walk the sh#t outta some nowhere.

This poor guy though, is stuck in a cast, plus he got zapped by the electric fence today. Stress eating too, the german call it kasserspeck (?) grief bacon...poor little piglet.

Thanks Brandon! Not good getting them mixed up with cats!!!! I did have a BURMESE cat once. I think it had autism..no purring, didn't care much for people but loved my lab.

Susan

Edit: they died within weeks of each other. Doggie first, then the cat. I found the cat hunkered down in some tall grass...no evidence of trauma...I think a broken heart. Both were 12ish.
