My friends dog, Kuma passed away in his owners arms yesterday. Kuma was a lab/chow? mix. He was an amazing dog, he and my dog were frenimies.

He will be missed.

It's difficult saying goodbye to animals that loved you unconditionally.

Goodbye Kuma Bear. You were loved deeply.

I'm crying as I type this.

Boxers are cool, goofy, and super high energy. Most spastic animals I have ever seen. What's not to love.

In all seriousness, they do require an active lifestyle, and/or a big yard to burn up their nearly boundless energy.

I dig TGT's link. As I feel remorse for the fallen dogs.

Many think that us 'forcing' dogs into military service is inhumane. That is debatable. But if you could ask that dog if he'd rather fight for dog oppressors like the Taliban and radical scum, or fight with caring handlers in the US military, I think the choice is pretty clear.

And there is no middle position. Some dogs are necessary tools to fight current wars to irradicate threats.

The Beagles serve us airports sniffing for drugs and ammo, the Belgians are the ones serving spec ops missions to smell out bombs. As evidenced by TGTs link.

We save dogs' lives, and the save us too.

Hey Blue i hate to always disagree with you, but i bet the taliban could train a puppy as well as anyone. dogs do what their handlers teach them, as long as they do it correctly... we don't have a monopoly on that-but we do treat our dogs better than most...

Speaking of dogpaws, the runty guy, the little heeler mutt is gaining weight like crazy and I have to watch his pill-poppin' closer than pobrecita Anita.

Seriously cute, Dingus. How can anyone not smile to see puppies? You'll invite us back as they grow rambunctious I trust.
