I only saw the highlights of that one. 2 penalties to Barca, one of which was pretty much a dive by Suarez. But still, a total collapse by PSG at the end. They let in three goals in the last 6 minutes.

Bugger Chelski.

Interesting article the other day detailing how Ronaldo is the greatest evah cause he delivers in the big games while Messi chokes. Hard to disagree.

Got to see the England-France friendly live tonight. Damn entertaining for a friendly. France down to 10 a minute into second half as England equalized. Then they sat on their asses while France fought back. France have a couple new youngsters to watch: Dembele and Mbappe. A couple of real keepers them!

Yes, France has ridiculous amounts of attacking talent.
Giroud
Griezmann
Lacazette
Dembele
Mbappe

They don't even need to bother inviting Benzema back on to the team.

Well how about that!
Claudio Bravo stops not one, not two, but THREE Portugal penalty kicks after OT to help Chile into the final on Sunday against Germany, who will surely
kick Mehico's tail tomorrow!!!!!

And Germany have undone Mehico's dream. The second teamers beat them
4-1 (with Mehico getting a consolation goal at 89', (Germany scored their
4th immediately after)).

VIVA CHILE!!!!! (though I think Deutschland will win this one). . .

Bravo looked like a proper clown playing in the Premier League, maybe the worst shot stopper in the league. You know it's bad when mid season they're thinking "wonder if we could get Hart back from Torino?"

My dream is that the next time the USA plays England Joe Hart will be in goal, topped only by the chance Robert Green will be brought Back in the NT fold.

Jamaica's victory seemed quite in keeping with the flow of the game. Throughout the game both teams had excellent chances that were muffed, but I thought it was a good game. I've always been strangely loyal to the Mexican national team, but good for the underdog playing a good game. I can't imagine they have a chance against the US, but fiik.

It was hard to see either team lose today (Jamaica v USA). The loss
of Andre Blake may have caused the loss. Both teams deserved it, for sure.

As I’ve said for yonks, the US plays athletically but not creatively, or even skillfully. I don’t see any Lukakus or Ibrahimovichs out there, let alone any Ronaldos or Messis. When I go by practice fields here, as I have forever, all I see are kids dribbling balls around mazes of cones being directed by men who don’t have a clue. When we start seeing kids playing in alleys, or any semi-level patch of this Earth, just because they love it then there will be some cause for hope. I saw some fabulous street players on one of the main streets of El Chalten, Argentina with Fitzroy looming over them. They would ricochet the ball off the curb or a car’s tyre to make a pass. Hell, in Naples they don’t even need a semi-level alley, the steeper the better the challenge!
