The link above shows Issa won by 20 points in 2014 and barely won in 2016. Takes more than shifting demographics to nearly overcome that kind of beatdown in a couple years.

Hard to say why OC went blue ...Maybe the OC voters didn't want a President who's colluding with a dictator run country that has nukes pointed at us...?

There are long term trends. But probably the single biggest change in well to do suburban republican districts in the last 2 to 4 years is that college educated women that had previously voted R went Dem. Trump's misogyny has a lot to do with that.

This year there have been big discrepancies between the popular vote and legislative seats. Democrats were taking 55% to 65% of the popular vote, but republicans won 55% to 65% of the legislative seats in those corresponding elections.

It would be nice to have a constitutional amendment that monitors such outcomes. When the discrepancies are so large, the state elections need to be invalidated and district boundaries re-drafted by independent commissions.

It's interesting to me that (of all people) Arnold Schwarzenegger is pushing and working hard for "anti-gerrymandering" laws and initiatives. Nationwide.

Two days ago, you claimed there were dozens of cases where the Democrats got two-thirds of the vote, but the Republicans ended up with two-thirds of the state delegates.

Keep moving those goalposts.

The usual strategy is to 'lock' them, though, isn't it? Not completely remove them...

Whatever. I respect their ownership and intent for this site, but while you can delete the threads, the people are still here, and more will follow.

Maybe it was the expletive in the thread title?

Why stop at that? Ban those that post to political threads, too.

But first, lift a pic from their social media site and photoshop it and post it to 'out' them. That'll show 'em!

Clever idea.
BAN the posters that, START, political threads.
