what got you to go?

Five days of vomiting and diarrhea with no break. My biggest concern was a severe headache with shoulder and neck pain and stiffness that I actually thought I may have contracted meningitis.

Good call going to the hospital, Susan.
Sepsis is very serious and sometimes looks like other things at first.
I'm glad to hear you are improving.

My friend Wendy almost died from it a couple of years ago.

(link is actually the text of an article, not her scary experience.
She had it at the next level, septic shock - 40-70% mortality rate).

A new treatment which adds a couple of things to the antibiotics is in use in a few places and being tested. Results look good, but not fully proven yet.

Susan,

Dr. Laura prescribes lots of funny movies and some good (blonde) jokes...cause you know laughter is the best medicine.
